I guess you picked that clip on purpose to cheer up glum England supporters on this miserable morning. Just to let you know - it didn't work for me but I guess it's the thought that counts.
ReplyDeleteIt was all so close. Even I got excited after that first goal. It was a beautiful day yesterday, today it is dark, grey, and rainy; very suitable.
DeleteI'm Scottish/German-Jewish.....
ReplyDeleteWell done Italy!!
Having never supported England at anything but Cricket, I must say that England did well to get to the final.... but just didn't crack the can open for the last drops during extra time....
Deletepersonally, I think it is totally against the spirit of any sport to use a penalty kick system in such an important match....
I think they should rest for 30mins after extra time....
then play a five-a-side[+ goalie] match for twenty minutes.... then change the ends and five players for a further twenty.... if it is still a draw.... reduce the players to three+goalie....
Much fairer.... and more entertaining for the crowd, good for the pubs, too!!
I think they should have gone home, had a rest, and come back again today. Penalties is not the way to decide a result.
DeleteA good idea but I can't see the TV companies agreeing.
DeleteThey used to have a replay for the Final if it ended in a draw after Extra Time. In the games leading up to the Final draws were decided on the toss of a coin.
DeleteI didn't watch it - can't stand the strain! But don't agree with penalties - puts too much onus on individuals - particularly the goalie and those who have to kick the ball. And they get the blame if they fail. Not cricket!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly not an ideal way to decide a match. The Gaolie is very lucky to save one, and the striker is very unlucky not to score.
