It's late.

I normally rise at 5.30; 6.00 at the latest. But last night we had some friends around for dinner, and I've lost a couple of hours somewhere.

Looks like it might be a little bit cooler today; not a bad thing for getting on with certain outdoor jobs.

  1. So it's true that old people sleep less. I remember (when sharing a room with you at Moor Park) throwing the window open, letting in the cold, early morning air and pretending to do exercises, with you cowering under the bedclothes begging me to stop!

  2. Oh, the joys of summer! Your an early bird , like my manly man. I chewed him out just yesterday for waking me when he gets up, sleep is the upper most important thing for me! Everytime I go to Europe and come home and get up early for a few days he hopes I'm becoming an early riser. No, it just isn't happening!

  3. Sounds just like Lady M, Linda. I daren't wake her in the mornings; my life wouldn't be worth living!

can't tell you how many times we have passed on the stairs, me rising and him just going to bed...36 years on, seems to work for us.

  5. And not even a tiny hangover? (Bet you're having an afternoon nap.)
