Polite Robbery
All crime, petty or otherwise, is always worthy of utter contempt, but one can almost feel pity for this criminal, who even promises to pay back the money when he gets back on his financial feet.
Oh Cro …. that’s really sad ….. I’m not condoning it and, I’m sure the shopkeeper has rent to pay and kids to feed but it shows just how desperate some people are …… we forget how lucky we are and that we don’t have to sink to such levels . XXXX
They both are so polite. I've never been robbed, (unless taking things from my garage or car counts), but I don't know that I'd have the wits to thank the robber.
What is really sad about this story, if it's true, that that guy clearly doesn't have friends or family who'd lend him a fiver or several to get him "back on his feet".
There were instances on a tv show we watched tonight of criminal behaviour in public caught by CCTV. It is hard to believe criminals are so stupid that they can't work out how to beat CCTV.

Wow, that is a very polite robber and I hope he does get back on his feet and pays back the money.
Yes, one almost feels sorry for him. I wonder if he ever did pay back the money. I quite expect he was arrested.

As I said above, 'Civility in desperation'. I cannot imagine being so low, that I'd have to do something like that.

I did note that right at the very end he did reach for something. An alarm button perhaps?

He found a shopkeeper instead!
I think the guy above was a total amateur, and probably didn't think of such things.
This shows just how hard times are for some people. Very sad. There needs to be a safety net for those truly feeling hardship.
The trouble is a professional conman is so convincing - it is difficult to know what to believe.
Yes cro
It's very sad that someone would need to go to such extreme lengths.
I imagine he's genuine. He didn't seem very efficient at being a Hold-Up guy.
