For me every day, since my son was born, is mother's day. I look at him and I am happy 365/365 or however many days the year has.
Having said that, my father is getting older and the shit has hit the fan. No, he isn't senile or anything. It's just that his true colours are intensifying. Big time. It's a wrench.
Anyway, enjoy your fatherhood, Cro, let your kids enjoy their father; be there for them, don't close your mind and, occasionally, admit when you have made a mistake.

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 46 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live in an ancient cottage, in a tiny village, in perfectly tranquil countryside. We have a vegetable garden called 'Haddock's' (this may crop up from time to time), plenty of fruit trees, and a view that takes the breath away; we also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
I don't get Father's Day. Or Mother's Day.

U
I've never been interested in Father's Day. Like you, every day is Father's Day to me.
DeleteFather's Day always reminds me just how much I miss my Dad.
ReplyDeleteWe never know how much we're going to miss our parents, until it's too late.
DeleteIt's an amusing video. So you made your sons bowl underarm and then whacked the ball to billy-oh. Bad Dad.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they'd see it that way.
DeleteWho is that man? Is he the guy from Fawlty Towers? I recognize the voice, but can't place the man.
ReplyDeleteHis name is Simon Day; a very funny, dry-witted, comedian.
DeleteIt's funny...but sad that you see so many like it
ReplyDeleteDarn I was waiting for him to get a ball in the face or a bat in the knees at the end.
ReplyDeleteLove it and I am sure he is trying to tell you something.
