Abandoned Project.

About 30 years ago, I kept finding logs in-amongst my wood pile that looked like torsos/legs.  With a small amount of sawing, and a bit of paint, I turned them into what you see below.

I had intended to make them into bedside lamps, but somehow they never got completed and were moved to the back of a shelf.

Lady M recently found them, and brought them out.

As you might see, Woodworm have been enjoying themselves, but I still think I might now finish them. The tiny holes gives them 'character', and we could certainly use some more lamps up at the barn.

I love them …. Remind me of the window displays in old haberdashery shop windows. Drew Pritchard ( the guy who buys antiques on TV’s Salvage Hunters ) ) would pay a fortune for those ! XXXX

Goodness! I've never thought of them that way.

I love them. They would be great in my new garden, when we eventually buy a house.

Err, well, yes, I suppose so. Would the switches be on the lamp wires or on the bases themselves?

Not sure I like them - sorry

She put them on a low wall by the pool. They look quite nice there.

I'm imagined buying ready made lamp 'furniture', with the switches on the wire.

Not everyone's cup of tea, I'm sure.

I think that the woodworm have indeed added to the character of these sculptural lamp bases. Will you be treating them to prevent further woodworm activity? I think that it is a great project and I hope that you will show pictures of the finished lamps here on this award-winning blog.

Yes, I'll give them a coat of something. I shall have a look on Tuesday to see if I can find all that I need to make them into lamps.

These are wild! I have a dozen or more pieces in a wood pile that'll be a pain in the ass to split, and I may give them a once over to see if I can come up with something so creative. Awesome talent!

Love those Cro and they will look excellent as lamps or just lounging around the house.

More just a bit of fun, I think.

They're lounging about by the pool at the moment.

I prefer boxers.

They don't come boxer-shape.

They'd be fun by the pool with a solar light installed. They look like swimming suits.

That's a very good idea!

woodworm willy.

The groin areas look a bit odd. Don't think I could live with them in the house.

Do give the undies a bit of a touch up.

They came as nature made them.

Willy Wonky.

I'm still wondering what to do with them.

Are they tall enough to use as tables alongside a lounger?
