September Song

September has begun strangely here. The Water people have been digging-up our garden again, then they found an Asian Hornet nest; so they downed tools until the Asian Hornet Destroyer Man came.

Overnight we've had thunder lightning and rain, but they'll no doubt be digging again today. With holes all along the road we are blocked in. We're out tomorrow evening, so we'll have to drive across open fields.

Oh well; Lotte Lenya will keep me company today.

  1. All you need now are the three witches and you have your very own Macbeth.

  2. You have made me think about that Bernard Cribbins song about digging a hole. Perhaps you could be the man in the bowler hat?

    1. They're here again, making an awful noise and mess. I just hope they'll leave everything as tidy as it was before.

    1. It's a beautiful song, that was written for Ms Lenya.

  4. Remembering posing for her famous portrait by Saul Bolasni, Lotte Lenya said, "Looking at it, my fanny starts hurting all over again from sitting in that chair. But it was worth it."

    1. I do know that painting; she looks very 'Vampish' in it; not really how I'd imagined her.

  5. You'll need a 2CV to drive across fields and ploughed paddocks. A 2CV as a second car would be a great way to spend the Cro wealth. Video not viewable here. Why would such an old clip be geoblocked?

    1. There is no video, just the song!

We used to have a 2CV, it was perfect for cross-country adventures. A pity we don't still have it.

  6. All the digging sounds very disruptive. Putting everything back as it was will be important.

    1. It's a bit of a mess, but they do seem conscientious so I'm hoping to see all back to neat-n-tidy after they return on Monday. We are happy to see the back of a huge Asian Hornet nest and a Wasp nest in the back of the house.
