Canine blood donors.

Is your dog of a rare canine blood group? Then maybe you should think of him/her giving blood.

Dogs require operations just as much as we humans, but donors are in short supply.

Blood group Koochie-Woochie-plus is particulary desired, on account of the increased ownership of Chihuahuas, Chins, and Pekingeses. Also sought is the rare Scrapper A+ (sometimes amusingly known as Tyson A+) which is the blood-type associated with nasty breeds such as Pit Bulls, who are always getting into scraps (these dogs are predictably called 'Tyson').

However, blood type Barking-Bastard is the most regularly required. The majority of dogs are Barking-Bastards; the easiest way of distinguishing them being by the noise they make. They bark, bark, bark, constantly, and, if strapped down, will happily surrender most of their blood in order to save a fellow Barking-Bastard.

Give generously; empty your 'Barking' dog of its life-blood. A bone shaped dry dog biscuit and a bowl of water will be given to all donating dogs that survive. Thank you on their behalf.

  4. I would never have thought about that! I don't have a dog, or I would look into that.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I have enjoyed looking through yours. Your garden is wonderful and your view lovely.

I spent 3 weeks in France this past March and April and really enjoyed it. Lucky you!

  6. When my old dog was diagnosed with leukemia and given 6 weeks to live, we were given a treatment that included chemo and transfusions. We declined due to the costs, the dogs well being and the travel to a major veterinary college for care as transfusions weren't avaialable in our town for 4 legged folk. He lived three years quite contendly.
