These two smug-looking OAP vandals, Diane Bligh 77 and Alyson Lee 66, are responsible for spraying paint over Charles Darwin's grave in Westminster Abbey. I hope they are pleased with themselves; they certainly look it. In court they both pleaded 'not guilty'. Well, they would wouldn't they!
Is there any point of lying to intelligent people in court when there is plenty of photographic evidence to prove that they are 100% guilty?
The day when their miserable lives come anywhere close to being as exemplary as that of Darwin's, it'll be a bloody miracle. Is it simply his genius they despise so much? Why is it that these lefties hate excellence so much?
Their case will be heard in May, and could last three days.
With the evidence below, I would have thought it would take no more than 5 minutes.
Of course, nothing will happen to them; not in modern Britain. Meanwhile some poor man returning from holiday in France found an African stowaway hiding amongst his bicycles. He phoned the police at once, and has now received a fine of £1,500 for importing an illegal immigrant. The African stowaway has probably been booked into a nice hotel, given a mobile phone, and plenty of spending money.
That's the UK for you! Totally bloody bonkers!

To be fair the damage only took an hour to clean up. It is the court time that will cost.
I really don't care if the damage evaporated, it's the act that is disgraceful. Would YOU spray paint over the grave of a world-renowned scientist, in a cathedral? I certainly wouldn't.
No I wouldn’t but I wouldn’t be as outraged by two people spraying, what I think is powder, over a stone on a cathedral floor.

Maybe being arrested was on their bucket list so they jumped on the Just Stop Oil band waggon. At least it was easier to clean than a piece of art.
I've never seen an aerosol can that contained powder.

Do a wee bit of research Cro, and you will see it is often referred to as orang powder spray, apparently made with cornstarch. It was reported the incident above took an hour to clean up

The material used makes a huge difference - temporary nuisance that has to be cleared up vs permanent damage.
The court time, on the other hand, is a significant cost.

Local Alien and Andy have hit the nail on the head - those silly old women wanted their 15 minutes fame! I can think of many ways to achieve that without attempted vandalism. Whenever these "Just stop oil" idiots protest I always wonder how they got to the protest site. Did they walk, cycle, use public transport, hire a coach or drive there, in gas guzzling 4x4's. Did they offer to walk to the police station, rather than be driven in a police car!
My sympathy is with the poor holidaymaker who found the stowaway. How ridiculous to fine him for importing an immigrant. I trust the immigrant has been sent back - that is the best deterrent.

Why do you call Diane Bligh and Alyson Lee "lefties"? As a lifelong Labour voter myself, I think that what they did was quite despicable. They seemed to have no rationale for targeting Charles Darwin's grave. I would tag them and require then to undertake 100 hours of community service - cleaning ugly graffiti off walls etc..

I like YP's recommendation too. If people were held accountable for their bad behavior maybe they would think twice before acting badly.
