A morning walk by the sea.

It was still reasonably quiet when we got down to the beach yesterday morning. A few fellow dog-walkers joined us by the sea, and Billy ran around with some of his chums from the park. It was a lovely bright sunny day, and the beach was the destination of choice.

Billy only goes in the water up to his elbows. He's not a fully-fledged swimmer, but he does like to chase the waves.

Signs of the recent strong winds are still to be seen along the prom'. Plenty of pebbles still needing to be swept-up and returned to their proper home on the other side of the railings.

And finally here is beautiful Brunswick Terrace, with Billy posing. We drank coffee at a small Café with the Terrace behind us, we sunned ourselves on the beach, and were home again in time for lunch.

  1. Thank you for a positive post this morning. I've just read a few which are depressing.

  4. Lucky Billy to be able to play on the beach. Dogs aren't allowed on any of the beaches here, which is such a shame - I love to see them chasing the waves.
That's a very elegant terrace behind Billy.

    1. They aren't allowed on the beach all the time, only during certain winter months.

  5. I wouldn't wish to walk on those pebbles in bare feet. How does Billy cope with pebbles underfoot?

    1. He takes no notice. It's not always easy for us if they've been swept-up into a slope. We sink!

  6. How lovely to live near the sea .... my cousin lives along the coast in Worthing. I have never been one for sitting on a beach but to walk along it is such a pleasure. XXXX

  11. Walking the beach is always a joy especially when you have the beach to yourselves. My dog likes chasing the waves too. He goes up to his stomach but no more. I've never seen him swim.

    1. He sounds the same as Billy. He likes 'paddling' but no more.

  12. I love the ocean and the salty air, but don't think I would enjoy those pebbles. I am used to fine sand beaches.

    1. When heading down the beach for a swim one has to wear shoes of some sort, otherwise you get used to it. However, we'd all prefer soft white sand.
