I was never a big Queen fan, their music always seemed too dramatic, orchestral, and over produced.
However I heard this track again recently, and had a look at the video. Freddie Mercury certainly had stage presence, and would have been an advantage to any band. Not someone one could ignore.
It's a tad raucous, but a bit of raucous occasionally is good for the soul. What a great performer he was.
I rather enjoyed singing along with Queen on my car radio on the way to work. Goodness knows what the other motorists must have thought.

ReplyDeleteWatch Bohemian Rhapsody. While fictionalized to a degree, it does give you insight to the band and how the music was made.
ReplyDeleteHusband even enjoyed. Dragged him to the movie theatre with the promise of snacks. He's since watched on a flight and on the catch up channel on tv.
