Another gift that REALLY surprised us was this box of Chocs (below), but I won't say which one was ours!
Billy had a good day; he's never been so pampered!

Oooh! I used to LOVE getting a box of Quality Street every year, then they replaced some of my favourites with types I didn't like.
I don't really eat sweets, but at Christmas I make an exception.

Quality Street! That takes me back many years.
Kew Street. Never heard of them. I was going to remark on the telephone but it is the answer. At one point our phones like that became so light, they would move around when you were dialling. I expect the call quality will be high, but I hope you don't need to redial too often.

Kew Street is a new up-market version of Quality Street; for the discerning only!
I had a 1940s phone for a while. It was great until the phone calls where I had to 'press one for...' Beware of that.
We have to do that on our other phones. Then once you've pressed '1', there starts another round of numbers to press. It goes on and on.
I came to the guessing game too late. Do you have to dial numbers in the old way waiting for the plastic circle to return to its resting position?
It does look as if one should, but in fact it's push-button. The ring and dialling tone are both pleasantly old-fashioned.
I used to get Quality Street every year, but just recently...or not so recently even, the total size of the tin has been getting smaller and smaller and it's not even a tin any more, it's yet more plastic. Your Kew Street looks more the real deal now!
I used to love the one in purple 'silver' paper - it had a nut in the middle.
Oh wow Cro, is it an old fashioned land line phone. We don't see many of those anymore. I took leave of my last one in 2016 and miss it dearly for cost effectiveness and never needing charging. Great you had your oldest and family. I have never seen Kew Street. Quality Street is common here and always given as Christmas gifts. Compliments of the season to you and yours. Jo

I rather like the round, flat, coin shaped, toffees.
