I eat my Peas with Honey,
I've done it all my life.
It makes the Peas taste funny,
but it sticks them to the knife.
We all know this little children's poem, and it still amuses me to this day.
I don't eat a lot of honey, but, like the Greeks, I do like it drizzled on Yoghurt.
I'm currently slowly making my way through a jar of Egyptian Honey (right of photo) that was brought back by Kimbo. He also brought back a jar of Ginseng Honey (middle of photo) that has yet to be broached.
As I eat so little, it will be some while before these two jars are finished.
On the jar of Egyptian Ginseng Honey, it claims to be a 'Traditional Asian Vitality Tonic'. It says to take one or two teaspoons a day for 3 months; and to double the dose for instant energy.
Well, I don't think I shall follow their recommendations, but I am looking forward to having it with my Yoghurt. With all that energy-giving Ginseng, I'll be flying!!

We buy locally produced honey from the IOM Beekeepers' Society members. Nowt messed about with!

Yes, you have to be careful, there are a lot of scoundrels about. We are often given honey in France by our neighbours. It's very dark Chestnut Honey, and a bit bitter.
One of my cousins husband was the commercial artist responsible for the Winnie the Pooh Gales Honey adverts way back.

We used to have a shop selling local honey in a nearby village. Very popular with lots of different flavours. No idea if the shop is still there, it's a while since I've stopped in the village for a walk round. Not really a honey fan, it's usually too sweet for me.
Pooh is a favorite. Interesting tidbit about Lady M. I would try the remedy honey just to see if it worked. Won't hurt. Might help.
Too sweet for me too, but I do like a bit with Yoghurt.
Honey has health benefits. Local beekeepers are doing very well. I also like knowing where my honey comes from.
A friend likes honey in her tea. I like it on toast with butter too.
I'm going to finish the other jar first, so it might be 2026 before I broach the Ginseng.

Cro, we put honey and brown sugar on ham steaks and use honey and real butter on our biscuits. Have tried several different kinds - recently given Scottish and Hawaiian honey. But love the local honey best.
Honey and good butter go very well together, it's almost as if they were made for each other.
Gosh, that sounds like a huge industry; and dangerous too!
