Let them (not) eat cake.

There was a delicious aroma of freshly baked cake in the air, so Lady Magnon decided to play just one more game of Dominoes with Boo Boo, whilst the cake cooled on the kitchen table.

Unfortunately the smell of cake is appealing not only to humans, but also to dogs; and a certain young Border Collie I know had already been tucking in.

No supper for you tonight m'lad!!!

    1. He only left a bit because he was caught in the act; sitting on a chair, and tucking in.

  2. Oops!
I remember leaving a custard tart on the worktop at work one day. It was unattended for all of two minutes and appeared untouched but there was a very smug poodle licking her lips. None of the four staff were prepared to risk it so she got the lot. Waste not, want not!

    1. If it had been licked all over, I don't think I would have been too keen either.

  3. Lucky that it didn't have dried fruit in it or a trip to the vet toute suite would have been in order!

    1. Lady M was partly to blame. She left it too near the edge of the table.

  8. Can't really blame him - who doesn't like cake! We have learned not to leave the butter out without a cover over it (cat!) -Jenn

  12. In the upper echelons of society, such great people, toffs, the pheasants on the table ready for tomorrow's dinner party, mauled by some animals in the night (the dogs?) and found on the floor next morning resulted in a menu change; casseroled for guests the next day instead of roasted.

    2. Yes, I would. The story was told to me by one of the men I used to work with. It was his sister.

My dog Busby ate a plastic bag full of minced meat. Yeah, bag and all.
