Let them (not) eat cake.

There was a delicious aroma of freshly baked cake in the air, so Lady Magnon decided to play just one more game of Dominoes with Boo Boo, whilst the cake cooled on the kitchen table.

Unfortunately the smell of cake is appealing not only to humans, but also to dogs; and a certain young Border Collie I know had already been tucking in.

No supper for you tonight m'lad!!!

At least he left you a piece!

He only left a bit because he was caught in the act; sitting on a chair, and tucking in.

Enough left for you to share?

Oops!
I remember leaving a custard tart on the worktop at work one day. It was unattended for all of two minutes and appeared untouched but there was a very smug poodle licking her lips. None of the four staff were prepared to risk it so she got the lot. Waste not, want not!

Lucky that it didn't have dried fruit in it or a trip to the vet toute suite would have been in order!

He knows what's tasty, even if it's not the healthiest, like all of us.

Billy likes a bit of Lady M’s freshly baked cake along with everyone else ! He’s not daft. XXXX

Oh no! That really not very fair of him.

Yes, luckily.

If it had been licked all over, I don't think I would have been too keen either.

I think it was Banana and Honey.

He's not a greedy dog, but he does like cake.

Cro Magnon said...

He had about a third of it.

Lady M was partly to blame. She left it too near the edge of the table.

ahh, he's only a baby. Not daft though!

Can't really blame him - who doesn't like cake! We have learned not to leave the butter out without a cover over it (cat!) -Jenn

We're going to re-name him 'Billy the Cake'.

We used to find our cat licking the icing off cakes. Not nice.

So naughty Billy, but hey, you are an always hungry dog.

Our Lab' Monty was far worse. He lived to eat!

My son left some nice steaks on the counter one time; just ready to go out to the grill....

Love 'em for what they are!

Love that he was sitting at the table eating cake. Such good manners.

In the upper echelons of society, such great people, toffs, the pheasants on the table ready for tomorrow's dinner party, mauled by some animals in the night (the dogs?) and found on the floor next morning resulted in a menu change; casseroled for guests the next day instead of roasted.

Crumbs!

My dog Busby ate a plastic bag full of minced meat. Yeah, bag and all.

Love it!

Never turn your back on a hungry dog.

Cro Magnon said...

I didn't actually see it, but my wife said he was sitting very nicely on MY chair.

Cro Magnon said...

I think I might do the same.

Cro Magnon said...

Sounds like a Lab'. Monty never worried about wrappers.

Cro Magnon said...

He did too.

Yes, I would. The story was told to me by one of the men I used to work with. It was his sister.
