It's Getting There.

This is pretty much what I'd planned for the 'tower'. Plenty of greenery, a Bacchanalian arch above the entrance gate, and just a few hints that something more interesting may lie beneath.

The back wall is equally verdant, but work is still needed on the front and the far side.

Next year maybe.

  2. ...ditto the first two comments. Looks like you have several different plants which makes it more interesting. Is the blooming one Clematis?

    1. I have two clematis. Montana and Nelly Moser; the easy ones. The pink flowers are actually Lavatera. All very standard fare, as I'm hopeless with flowers.

    2. I'll look up Lavatera. Thanks.

Same for me with flowers. I did have a Mr. Lincoln rose which bloomed spectacularly for 3-4 years and then died. I think someone shot it.

    3. Lavatera is the perfect non-gardener's plant. All you need is a tiny cutting, it grows like crazy, and flowers all summer.

  7. An open door as a promise, offering the mind the possibility to add to something that is very beautiful as it is now. Dreamlike.

  8. Just lovely. It looks perfect the way it is but I understand the need to keep improving. I can't help tweaking things myself.

Next year may be better (you think) but this year is fine.
