This is pretty much what I'd planned for the 'tower'. Plenty of greenery, a Bacchanalian arch above the entrance gate, and just a few hints that something more interesting may lie beneath.
The back wall is equally verdant, but work is still needed on the front and the far side.
Next year maybe.

It's looking good.
Picture-book perfect. It's lovely!
...ditto the first two comments. Looks like you have several different plants which makes it more interesting. Is the blooming one Clematis?
Very
" secret garden"
It looks quite delightful.
I have two clematis. Montana and Nelly Moser; the easy ones. The pink flowers are actually Lavatera. All very standard fare, as I'm hopeless with flowers.
I do like the idea of a 'Bacchanalian arch!
It's beautiful Cro.
An open door as a promise, offering the mind the possibility to add to something that is very beautiful as it is now. Dreamlike.
I'll look up Lavatera. Thanks.
Same for me with flowers. I did have a Mr. Lincoln rose which bloomed spectacularly for 3-4 years and then died. I think someone shot it.
Just lovely. It looks perfect the way it is but I understand the need to keep improving. I can't help tweaking things myself.
Lavatera is the perfect non-gardener's plant. All you need is a tiny cutting, it grows like crazy, and flowers all summer.
Looks lovely to me.
Next year may be better (you think) but this year is fine.
It's just gorgeous, Cro!
Looks beautiful!
