Having done some research, and having been advised by Rachel, I've thrown caution to the winds and bought myself about two weeks worth of magical Blood Pressure lowering liquid.
I am assured that by drinking about 250 mls per day, my BP should reduce to a level that equates to taking that ghastly Amlodipine. I am also assured that my legs and feet will no longer swell.
I eat Beetroot on a regular basis, but I had never thought about drinking Beetroot Juice. I can't say that eating or drinking it give the same pleasure; they don't. The Juice loses something during the process, but it's still not unpleasant.
I'm also hoping that this elixir will give me the looks of Adonis, the stamina of Usain Bolt, and the sexual allure of Errol Flynn. One can but dream.
It is 90% Beetroot Juice, and 10% Apple Juice.

I may try some
It is not nearly as nice as eating actual Beetroot, but for the sake of my BP I shall persevere.
Loving the amiodipine story, as I am on half your dosage but do not experience the side effects. But.....drinking beetroot juice, no thank you. Love my beetroot chunks in a salad dressing.
Yes, it's not as nice as the real thing. I may try making my own to see if it's better.
Good luck with the juice. Garlic is supposed to help lower blood pressure too. I think that comes in capsule form otherwise you'd be a social outcast.
I wonder if any of these work . It will be interesting to hear your results.
It should give you a nice ruddy complexion. I think I once read that it can improve your blood pressure because it can increase stamina and thus let you exercise more. Good luck.
Dreaming is good.
My other secret weapon is the radish.
Beetroot and apple? Hmm... not sure if I want to try that myself.
Good luck with the liquid medication. I hope it does the trick.
Beets have a lot of sugar. Watch out for diabetes.
There are miracle claims for almost everything you can think of, some I believe, others I don't; Beetroot comes into the first category.
Yes, I've read that too.
I hope you're not doubting. I'm looking in the mirror regularly; nothing yet!
Radish tastes as if it ought to have healing qualities.
It's not the tastiest combination, but I shall persevere.
I'm already Type 2.
Aside from his looks, there was another large factor to the allure of Errol Flynn.
Brimming over with them.
Mix some in a smoothie! Vary the combination..we like apple celery cucumber and fresh ginger..a slug of beetroot juice would definitely liven the colour!!
My husband's doc wanted to put him on blood pressure pills. Instead, I started juicing beetroot for him (quite a dramatic colour when put through the juicer). His bp went down.
Beetroot juice should fix that too!
I thought I'd like the taste more than I do. I need to find something to mix with it.
When I've finished my 3 litres, I shall start to make my own.
Gin
I just tried Balsamic Vinegar... not bad.
Don't be alarmed if your wee turns pink.
I actually am quite interested to see how this experiment works out.
I would also drink it except for the looks, stamina and sexual allure - don't think the world could handle that.
To play a little with one of my favorite Winston Churchill quotes, eating all this stuff and drinking vinegar with it might help one to live to be 100; it might seem like 200 though! Cheers
Yikes!!!
It'll be a while before I know. My problem is that my BP is about average anyway.
Someone recently said "You look gorgeous"; then I realised she was talking to the dog.
Yes, and I expect nature will take its course regardless.
I adore beetroot so maybe I will live to be 100 - not sure I want to though.
Nutrition plays a big factor in health. Natural cures are worth trying. Consulting with a good Nutritionist might provide additional valuable information.
It's a matter of keep me going healthily, until it's time to say goodbye
I have a wonderful book (in France) called 'Eating your way to health', which goes through almost every food known to mankind, and notes their benefits and detriments. Every home should have a copy.
Then I really don't understand the prescription.
You have to let your eyes go out of focus, then the wrinkles don't show so much.
That would happen to me, too!
