Trelawnyd Male Voice Choir-Bring Him Home

Music by Claude-Michel Schönberg. Lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and Alain Boublil. Voices by the good people of Trelawnyd, N Wales.

To me (and possibly to John Gray), this is the most beautiful version of this song. The singers put real passion into it. I feel very emotional every time they begin to sing.

The song seems very appropriate for Christmas this year. Christmas usually represents some of the best times of our lives, and it helps us remember those with whom we shared them.

There is a Welsh word, hiraeth (pronounced hee-raeth), which is about the pull of home, and the longing of the Welsh to be back in their own country. That song just oozes with the feeling, escpecially now, this year. Thank you for sharing the Trelawnyd version.

And to you Yael; stay safe.

They sing it so well; perfect.

I couldn't not play it; I think it's the perfect Christmas song. I almost feel as if I'm back in Wales.

I'm only part-Welsh, and don't speak the language (apart from goodnight, cheers, etc); but I do feel the 'hiraeth'.

A moving, inspired song. If you had only written that one song in your entire song writing career then you would surely be contented.

I agree, and I have yet to hear a bad version. I think the Trelawnyd lads do a particularly good job.

Thank you for sharing. Whe I saw the photo of the troops, it cast me back to the very emotional day--not quite a decade ago--when one of my sons returned from service in Afghanistan and I met his plane. No words. The music says it all. Pax to you and yours.

One of the loveliest songs from my favorite book/play/movies. It is hard for me not to shed tears when I listen to it. This version, with John’s Trelawnyd group is marvelous.

I am sorry to say I find it depressing. Don't know why but I suspect like new brass band stuff it is too good and not sung or played by working folk

That must have been a wonderful day, having him home safe and sound. I'm not surprised that the song takes you back.

I never tire of listening to it. I don't think it's actually John's choir, but another one.

I rather like the 'amateurish' quality of the choir; they don't attempt to hide it. More professional versions of the song don't have that quality.

Sublime choir behind piano music. So well done by the choir of the unpronounceable Welsh village.
