Pool opening 2016.

Today we open the pool, and by this afternoon it will look very much like this.....

Without George and Andy, of course!

p.s. The beautiful dark skinned girl (Dee.C.Lee) later married Paul Weller.

Clear water, white teeth and, what a waste of wine!
If you are having weather like us here Cro, 27C, then you could already be swimming in it today.
Greetings Maria x

25C forecast for today. I haven't checked the water temperature yet, but with all the 'shock' chemicals in it, I think we'll leave it for a few days.

We tend to leave our pool uncovered in winter, so that we can enjoy the lights on the long dark evenings. The cover goes over every night in summer to keep the heat in, but it was still only 26ºC, last time I checked. There has been a very cold wind at times and we are high up, and the pool is somewhat exposed.

We cover ours usually in September, then re-open now-ish. My friend José keeps his open and running all year long. We also have a solar cover for nights; 26C sounds perfect to me!

I remember you putting vitamin c inside, are you still doing it? (i thought maybe it has also a good effect on the skin...)

Local friends with pools appear to spend more time getting the chemicals, cleaning, stopping leaks and general maintenance rather than in it. I would love a 1.5m wide x 25m long x 1m deep trench of a pool for swimming.

I'm afraid I like the quiet life!

We don't have a pool. We have the river. But I don't swim in it, just paddle my feet. Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a swim, but the effort of getting wet all over puts me off. Alright to get soaked in a warm shower indoors though. So, no pool for us, but I shall enjoy the thought of you and your family romping around in yours!

This year the water and liner were both perfectly clean, so no need for the Vitamin C.

Upkeep should be kept to a minimum; if it started to be a nuisance I'd just change all the pump filter etc. Everything probably wants renewing after about 15 years.

It's OK Graham, we only allow 3 bikini clad lovelies at a time.

A good clean deep=ish river would have been perfect, but no such luck for us.

If I had a pool I would swim naked in it.

Of course, it saves wetting a costume.

This weekend is the unofficial beginning of summer. Starting off with a dip in the pool sounds perfect. Enjoy!

You picked a good day for it. I'll be round later with my towel and cossie.

I don't think we'll actually get to swim. It's a lovely day, but the water is under 20 C.

Storms tomorrow, then rain.

Risk of grele too. You'd better put those shorts away.

I remember a couple of years ago we had some terrible grele, and when it was over I rushed to Haddock's to survey the damage. Amazingly nothing was touched. If we get more tomorrow I hope it'll be the same.

It's a shade parky for these old bones !

Can we come and relax by it......please?

As long as you bring some bikini-clad girlies.
