Misguided activists.

For the sake of correctness, I thought I'd better state the actual facts about the recent UK 'deportations'.

There has been so much nonsense written and spoken recently about the deportation of foreign criminals, but who could have imagined that so many ill-informed activists would actually campaign for them to be kept on our streets, rather than being sent back to their own countries, as demanded by Labour's 2007 UK Borders Act. This would have been unimaginable only a few years ago; certainly during Blair's reign.

But twenty-first century lunacy is all around us. Bizarre virtue-signallers have now halted the deportation of 25 extremely nasty illegal immigrant criminals, amongst whom were a murderer, two rapists, and seven extremely violent individuals involved in knife and firearms offences. The rest were everyday burglars, thieves, etc. All of them were foreign nationals. Apparently it would be against their 'Human Rights' to send them home. They will now need council funded homes, plenty of spending money, and probably constant police surveillance to apprehend them should they commit more crimes, as in the recent case of Sudesh Amman (even though Sudesh had all of 20 policemen watching him).

When The Labour Party introduced the UK Borders Act in 2007, the act insisted on 'automatic deportation' in the following conditions.

Section 1. (Foreign Criminals)
(a) who is not a British Citizen
(b) who is convicted in the UK of an offence, and
(c) to whom Sections 1 or 2 applies

Section 2. On condition that the person is sentenced to a period of imprisonment of at least 12 months.

Etc, etc.

It must be noted here, that in 2006 Tony Blair deported 29,040 people without a whisper from the do-gooder 'Human Rights' brigade; not even from the fragrant Cheery herself (his lovely lawyer wife) who defended every wealthy ne'er-do-well imaginable!  I don't remember any 'campaigners' in 2006, but just like a stick of rock, hypocrisy is written right through these people.

You couldn't make it up, but David Lammy MP, himself, who has been extremely vocal about the deportations, was a minister under both Blair and Brown, and actually voted FOR the 2007 UK Borders Act. If he wants to blame someone for the present few expulsions, he need look no further than at a mirror; not accuse the Tories!  What a disgrace he is.

The stupidity of these campaigners amazes me. They should go ask the family of the murdered man, stabbed in the back by Fitzroy Daley, if they wish to see him back on their streets. Or go and consult the young girls raped by Fabian Henry. Or anyone affected by all those who are considered by The Home Office to be 'a danger to the public'. These campaigners make me sick; how could the UK have come to this? How could anyone in their right minds wish to see these people back on the streets, rather than returned to their own countries? If any of them in the future should kill, rape, or continue in any way to be a 'danger to the public', let their supporters then apologise, and take responsibility. 'Guilty by association' comes to mind.

It would only be a complete fool who would blame the present Conservative Government for enacting the previous Socialist Government's UK Borders Act; but, believe it or not, this is what they're actually doing!

The question is a simple one; does it make the UK a safer place to live, with foreign criminals on their streets?

I could go on, but it's all far too depressing. À bientôt.

  1. I suspect that most don't give two hoots for the criminals they just like to give Boris and his government a hard time.
I ignore Lammy, the man is an idiot.

    1. I fear you may be right, which makes them look even more stupid. The first rule of activism should be to know, and understand, the facts. As for Lammy.....

    2. Am so happy to share this testimony with everyone about how i got my herpes cured from Dr. Obela the godfather of herbal medicine. I had been going from one country to another for medication for 3 years just to be cured from herpes but all seems in vain, i was confused and decided to search through the Internet if i could get any news concerning herpes so i do keep searching until i visited one particular site and i saw the great testimonies from different persons testifying how Dr. Obela has cure them from herpes and other diseases and i was shock and was thinking if this is real, after a due consideration i decided to contact him with the email address I found in the posted just to give it a trial and when i contacted him he proved to me that his herbal medicine can cure me if only i believe in him, so i requested for his herbal medicine and i got it and i applied it as prescribed and after 1weeks and 3 days of application i went for a test and to my greatest shock the herpes virus has disappeared and it was just like a dream. Today I am cured from herpes am so happy and thanking God for using Dr. Obela to cure me. so if you are out there and you are suffering for herpes cure or any kind of illness kindly contact Dr. Obela through he will help you to cure that illness. you can get in touch with him via: drobelaspellhome@gmail.com or call/whatsapp him on this number +2347084171950.. 2. Yes Cro, I suspect that your thoughts are shared by a vast majority of British people.

But sadly I think that too often the tail seems to wag the dog?

    1. I just wish that 'activists' of any persuasion would first do a little research into their gripes. I fear that the gullible are simply being used to spread unrest. It's a sorry state of affairs.

  3. One man about to be deported complained that he felt numb. He was not as numb as the man he beat to death. What is wrong with Lammy? He is letting his constituents down. They don't want criminals giving them a bad name. The black people are there kicking out the criminals too. I don't see black people queuing outside the bus to say they can stay.

    1. Lammy is a strange man. He bleats on and on about 'racism', yet he's worse than anyone. All Black MP's should be working towards more harmony, rather than continuously building-up hatred. And as for him blaming the Tories for a Socialist Act of Parliament.... I'm lost for words.

    2. In fact for deportations of illegals, refugees and asylum seekers we are better off under Labour. The Guardian and the BBC won't report it and as Adrian said above, they don't really care, it's just giving the Tories a hard time and they destroyed the Windrush records so their tracks were covered and they even managed to blame the Tories for that.

  4. If a twenty something "yardy" came over from Jamaica and engaged in criminal activity or violence then of course he should be repatriated. But several of the men sent back to Jamaica had lived in Britain since they were children and have no family or friends on the island. At least one had only committed traffic offences. Jamaica is in the Commonwealth and Britain's relationship with it is a special one. Surely that should count for something. Every "case" deserved legal examination but the British government apparently did their best to by-pass normal legal processes and created an illusion that they were only sending back very bad men who had sneaked into our country illegally. The picture as not as clearcut as you imply.

    1. It is a question of Law. The 2007 UK Borders Act clearly states that people who are NOT British citizens who have committed crimes, and have served prison sentences of more than 12 months are subject to 'automatic deportation'. If at some time the Socialists wish to amend their Law, then they must do so in the normal way; not moan about it being enacted!

    2. I should add that if the activists were serious about deportations, they should lobby Parliament to have the 2007 Act changed (peacefully, of course). Seeing as they are NOT asking for it to be changed, it rather proves what their true aims are.

    3. One who committed a traffic offence was brought up by his grandfather in Jamaica when both his parents left him, one to US and one to Britain. It would appear that neither really wanted him. He came to live with his father when he was 14 but went into Local Authority care. He is now in his early 20s. His father is not going much out of his way to get him back. The deportation took place some time ago and until 6 days ago nothing had been said or any complaint made. I would say that this is a highly political stunt.

  5. To Australia's credit, and I will rarely give praise to our governments of any colour, a large number of criminals have been deported who don't have citizenship rights. If what you say is true, it is absurd.

    1. It's all a question of law, and how it should be enacted. The Socialists are now trying to cause political trouble because the Tories are enacting a Socialist law. It really doesn't make sense.

  6. I live in Canada - at the moment the whole country is being held to ransom by a small group of Indigenous activists and the "usual culprits" who show up to support whomever is protesting this week!
In this particular case 80% of tribe in question supports their ELECTED band chiefs who have signed a contract for a pipeline to go through their lands - 80% want the money and the jobs that this contract will bring.
20% support the Hereditary Chiefs - whomever they are - and want it stopped. "Supporters" all across the country have now brought all train traffic to a halt - both passenger and freight - by blocking the tracks in various strategic locations tin order o stop the RCMP from following a court injunction and removing the original group so that the pipeline can commence.
Our CBC - the equivalent of the BBC - of course reports nothing about the 80% but can't give enough time to the 20% and the usual suspects who join in at each of these sorts of things.
In Ontario the Ontario Provincial Police have refused to carry out a legal court injunction to remove them while our wimp of a PM has been too busy sucking up to African dictators and the Syrians so that he can get a seat on the UN for Canada - ask me if I care - to deal with this crisis. There has been no passenger service or freight getting through for 10 days now with no end in sight. It is absolutely ridiculous - and - I strongly suspect that if the hereditary chiefs were offered a bigger cut of the pot that this would all go away.
Why are the rights of the majority always sacrificed for the vocal minority these days?

    1. Usually I'm not against peaceful protest, as long as people who wish to get to work, or hospital, or anywhere else, are not inconvenienced. I know absolutely nothing about Canadian internal politics, but I do know that there are always gangs of people ready to join any demo, for whatever cause. They are a pain in the arse!

  7. Your, today's, post has made me realize that, despite my interest in human machinations, there are clearly issues I have not heard of, never mind have an opinion on. What you describe, and also taking YP's comment into account, sounds complicated.

I speak from some experience. No, I am not a criminal but who knows what the future will bring. As long as I can run all options are open. Steal a loaf of bread, get your hand cut off.

The UK's Home Office gave me a very hard time, twice, in the last ten years. Left me dangling, putting my life on hold, for six months, on both occasions. On one occasion they assigned me a nationality I don't have. Assigned it to me despite my passport in front of them. If I have mentioned this here before, Cro, I do not apologize. I wouldn't say it's "traumatized" me, but it sure shattered my belief in, I don't know … common sense? Compassion? The smooth oil of bureaucracy (Bureau Crazy as I call it)?

Good job I did read Kafka, Orwell and Huxley at an impressionable age.

I know I am slightly veering off the subject now, Cro, and I hope that's ok with you, but you see where you and other British Expats will be safe within your chosen mainland European country the same can NOT be said about a member of an EU state (like myself) in England. I await the bad news with trepidation. Now I know how a sitting duck feels.

    1. Don't think that people such as us won't be receiving a letter before long, telling us to either get some papers, or get out. Frankly I couldn't care less any more. We have a perfectly nice home back in the UK (2 actually), so it will be no hardship to return. I've always said that we could simply close the door to our home here, and it wouldn't affect us in the slightest.

  8. Mr Savini the Italian interior minister in the last coalition govt with the 5 Stars Movement and his party Liga has been charged with kidnapping because he refused to let what many Italians see as the Mediterranean illegal immigrant rescue taxi ship racket deposit 185 ‘rescued‘ p inflatable raft passengers in Italian ports and told them to go somewhere else as ‘Italy is full’. The world has always been nuts and always will be.

    2. I visited the Greek island of Kos, back in about 1980; it was a really beautiful island. I now hear that it is so overrun by illegal jobless immigrants that the locals literally fear for their lives. Since the Blair/Bush wars in the Middle East, the demographic of so many countries has totally changed, and will never return to how they were. The UK is one example. The newcomers who behave, get jobs, and contribute to society will always be welcome, but the serious criminals should always be sent home.
