    1. Sadly, it's absolutely true too. I think it looks better on the two grannies!

  2. The two grannies look like they could tell you more about life than the model. I agree, I prefer the reality of the clothes on them.

    1. You can always tell when well known designers (YSL) have run out of ideas.

  3. Too slim or not two slim that is the question.

    1. The grannies saved themselves nearly three grand. And helped the environment to boot.

    2. And the dresses will be passed on to the next generation of grannies too.

  4. A good bit more of fabric in the €11.50 frocks too.

  5. That is hilarious. Love the stern expressions or are they attempts at smiles!

    1. I think they were worried that their 'souls' were being stolen.

    1. There's a hint of Laura Ashley in them.

    2. In the winter, I wore it with a full length fur coat(my grandmother's). I'd be stoned these days. I was warm though.

  12. Haha 🤣...... I think fashion takes the piss a lot of the time .... most of us ( me included ) are taken for a ride at one time or another ! I do like a bit of fashion but on my terms. XXXX

    1. I've seen some absolute horrors recently, but I don't suppose they were designed to be worn; just attract attention.

  13. Very Laura Ashley and now very tired looking. Come to think of it, I probably looked ridiculous in my Laura Ashleys back in the day.

    1. I thought LA was very chic when she first started, but it soon became tiresome. I think I had some of her wallpaper.

  14. I've found the great "designs" by the great designers rather disappointing these last several years.

    1. There's nothing 'new' to be designed; better if they simply concentrated on 'attractiveness', and forget innovation.

    2. Yes, my favorite saying: there is nothing new under the sun.

  15. Too funny! There is also this whole "Lagenlook" thing that is so popular now, just a bunch of shapeless linen mumus all layered over each other. Wouldn't you know it, all the loose granny stuff gets popular again AFTER I lose fifty pounds.

    1. 40 years ago those two grannies could be found everywhere here, now you don't see any.

    2. You see a few of them around here in France but I don't think they can wear the headscarfs.

  16. There are grannies in all our backgrounds, God bless them! Where would WE be without them. Sad we've forgotten to follow their examples.
