Summer is, of course, the season of outdoor dining. Good friends, good wine, and plenty to eat.
Occasionally we are quite numerous, but at this recent gathering we were just seven.

Amongst our guests was our good friend Jan (wearing sunglasses, above); we've known each other for over 45 years (even though she tells me she's only 37).
Jan is a painter and designer, and has recently produced a range of furniture and textiles under the banner of 'Bairiki Beach'. Here are a couple of bits of her work.

I love this chair. She is such a talented gal. If you'd like to look at other examples of her beautiful work, you can see more here... http://www.janbarwickart.com/

Might just be my system, but I can only see the first photo. I am guessing you are the one conveniently lined up behind the light fixture? -Jenn
I will look her designs up. Adore the chair.
cheers, parsnip and badger
I particularly like her French paintings.
No, I'm the one behind the camera! I wonder why you can't see the illustrations? Go to her web site, and you'll see all.
Yes, I love that chair too.
Good, aren't they.
I always like food - what was the menu?
Some home made paté with foie gras, and some charcuterie (in picture), then BBQ'd sausages and merguez with various side dishes, then cheeses, and some small fruit tarts that a friend had brought. A good classic summer supper.
Those fabric designs are gorgeous. I'll go and see her web site.
A relaxing summer evening, good food, good wine and good company and no screaming kids or barking dogs. Looks like the temperature was great too, cool enough for long sleeves.
Happy summer nights
I think I was the only one wearing a T Shirt. The temp' went down to about 20 C, and it seemed quite cool.
Sounds good.
Jan's people were from NZ.
I can only see the first photo too.
Oh. It may have been in a format that my machine doesn't like. Have a look at her web page.
Oo, the menu sounds lovely. Jan's chair is too!
Happy days....and nights.
A pleasant evening all round.
Indeed Libby, one has to take advantage.
I enjoyed reading about her. It is good to hear a success story in art.
I like the chair. We once looked at buying a contemporary 1960s house and the chair would have suited perfectly.
She works hard too.
If I had the right house, I'd buy them too.
A talented artist. Cycled past their place yesterday.
At ole San Capray?
A beautiful summer evening with good friends, good food, and good wine. What could be better! I wish we could have those but it rains constantly. It is doing that again today.
I am going over now to check out your friend’s work.
We're back into summer mode after a short lull. Lovely evenings.
Love the look of your colourful table Cro - wonder what you were going to eat. Your food always looks so colourful too - wish you had put it on here.
Went over to the lovely lady's site - she certainly does some very bright and interesting stuff.
She a very talented gal.
