Four whole months to go before we'll open the pool. It seems like decades away. In the meantime, we have to look out onto the drab scene above.
At least this next picture reminds me that Summer is out there somewhere, and that T Shirts, bare feet, and wet hair will once again be a part of everyday life again.
The combination of hot sunshine and a cooling pool seem like a distant dream at the moment, so I need to look at pictures (such as the above) to remind me that it really does exist.
Did I ever mention that I really hate Winter?

I cant wait for summer. If I had a pool and a view like that I would summer all year round! Its stunning
I really should be doing what my youngest son does; half the year in one hemisphere, and the other half in the other. Makes sense, doesn't it.
You don't like winter then?
Must say the bottom photo looks more inviting - 31 here today but no pool.
Incredible the difference in temperatures. My family find it hard to get their head around a Greece with snow. Should be 30o all year round they say. Your photos show the reality! The med does indeed have a winter, even if only a couple of months
Can't stand it. I really should be in Bali.
Not too bad today. 6 C this morning, after some slight rain in the night. I'd swap for your 31 C any day.
Especially as we've had no snow here! I have a feeling that there's a lot of rain coming our way.
Really, I don't think so.
Four months...that does sound like a long time! But for us, as trainee market gardeners, it is too short a time until the spring crops need going into the ground because we have so much to do before that, weather permitting!
While winter isn't my favourite season it still has much to offer. Shorter working days on the smallholding for a start! Black and white photo versus colour isn't too fair Cro! Very little snow here too .
Both pictures are great views Cro. My mister hates winter too and is really grumpy for most of it - goes to work in the dark and then returns in the dark and practically lives in bed....comes alive when the sun shines. We really need to think about booking a holiday................
Drab scene? It is a good photo, though. Grey day!
Black and white photo really makes the scene look cold and even unloved. Is there a supermarket trolley in the water?
I'm already trying to dig my plot in readiness (my rotovator has packed up). Little by little.
I though the comparison was very subtle!
I try to be grumpy, but my natural cheery self prohibits it.
Even worse today, it's wet and even more drab.
One trolley, two bikes, and a car tyre.
You must have very strong winds there, or it was you who threw all that stuff to the pool.
Join the club Cro. Although quite Spring like here today.
It arrived from Heaven!
We had some rain this morning; looks OK now though. Very much twixt Winter and Spring.
Our pool cover is buried under snow right now. My husband despises winter (and we live in Canada) and I would much rather have a hot day as well. He's always researching Caribbean properties. -Jenn
A cabin on the beach in Grand Cayman would suit me just fine! Sadly the funds are lacking.
You've just got to embrace it Cro ..... Spring and Summer wouldn't be half as good if we didn't have Winter !! Open fires and lots of comfort food ..... that'll keep your pecker up 'till Spring. XXXX
Having lived in sunny climes for several years and having basically wall to wall sunshine x 365 (and the odd hurricane), I really appreciate the seasons. Even winter that I moan about. I really do.
Your pool is gorgeous. I don't blame you for wishing it was summer year round!
Cheers!
Did I ever tell how much I hate Summer??
Without winter, would the days of spring seem so remarkable.
That pool looks so amazing! That's all, I gotta go find my swimsuit.
I keep trying to tell myself that, but my Winter blues won't budge.
I wouldn't want that 30 C 365 days a year climate, but fewer cold hands, feet, and noses would be nice.
4 months to go..... then Yippee.
Jack Sprat would eat no fat.....
How about Winter at nights, and Summer in the daytimes?
Me too Donna. And the cold beer to go with it.
