That was funny! I haven't been watching the Olympics hardly at all. Apart from not being particularly interested, the time difference interferes with my working hours. BUT I'm excited that an old friend's daughter won GOLD in the Aussie Rugby Sevens. I'm happy that I managed to catch her getting her medal.
Last evening I saw a post-medal award interview with the brothers and found it totally charming. Sub-titles were provided, but I didn't really need them.
Glad I'm not the only one who finds the Olympics boring and not "my thing". Unfortunately I get an advert right across the video, and if I try to delete it, I just get the ad. website instead. So annoying.

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
First bit of the Olympics I've watched. You're right. With more commentary like this I'd be inclined to view more often. x
ReplyDeleteI've not watched much of the games either... not really my thing.
DeleteThe only Olympics I've watched is some of the tennis (rather obviously) but that commentary is perhaps as bizarre as any one is likely to hear.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even sure if it wasn't just someone having a laugh.
DeleteThat's the sort of commentary going on in our house when we watch the sailing.
ReplyDeleteIt can be very confusing... but not confusing enough to mistake the beginning for the end.
DeleteOh this was so funny and gave me a much needed lift to the day.
ReplyDeleteGood. I try to help.
DeleteThe hilarious interview with the Irish O'Donovan brothers after their win was another gem.
ReplyDeleteArilx
I couldn't understand a single word!
DeleteHaha ...... if only all of the commentaries were like that !!
ReplyDeleteIf only; sport would be much more popular.
DeleteI'd like to hear him do the velodrome race.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to hear him do Beach Volleyball.
Deletehow about synchronized swimming?
DeleteThat too.
DeleteSaw this great skit about three years ago. I suppose it takes awhile for you too catch up...... :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's the humour that counts, Heron.

ReplyDeleteWell done to your friend; I did see a tiny bit of the sevens. They were impressive.
DeleteHe didn't mention the severed leg they found in the water.
ReplyDeleteBut he did like the Finnish girl on the beach.
DeleteThis is really the only bit of the Olympics I have watched I am ashamed to say - I find it all a bit boring.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a fan either. I'm looking forward to international Rugby.

ReplyDeleteBest wishes.
I saw it WITHOUT subtitles, and couldn't understand a word.

ReplyDeleteI hope I've done this correctly. Try going to this site https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gPjMvTmE2g
