The Spices: A teaspoon of medium curry paste, a teaspoon of garam masala, a few chilli flakes, a bit of chicken stock cube, water, S & P.
The true taste of India; earthy, stimulating, delicious.
A bit of Bangra in the background, a warm evening, some Basmati, pleasant company, and a cool beer; what more could you want! Feeds two.
N.B. The above photo was actually of a curry from last year. Yesterday's one was exactly the same, but my photo was rubbish.
Looks good.
ReplyDeleteSadly my wife doesn't eat curry or anything spicy, so it's off my menu.
I don't think I could survive without a curry once or twice a week.
DeleteSadly, I'm in the same situation as cumbrian.
DeleteOh dear, you have my sympathy.
DeleteI think Cumbrian and Jimmy should start a gentle conversion of their respective partners by introducing a mild tandoori perhaps.
DeleteFor as many years as I can remember, I always have a Waitrose curry on a Saturday night if we are in. Delicious. When I am cooking I love to add spices and chilli flakes ( can't be bothered to prepare a real chilli!) I have recently cooked similar to yours, but with chopped bacon, and mushrooms not the green pepper. ( Served on cauliflower rice)
ReplyDeleteI can remember those Waitrose curries; very nice.
DeleteThat looks amazing. At first glance I thought the peppers were okra! :)
ReplyDeleteIt would work well with Okra too.... we can't buy them here.
DeleteWe like a good curry and go to the local curry house a lot. Much better than the ones I make and not an expensive meal out.
ReplyDeleteA good local curry house is a blessing.
DeleteNothing more delicious than a simple curry made from the freshest ingredients.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm addicted.
DeleteOnce again, seeing your post has given me some cooking ideas. Or perhaps restaurant ideas. Or both.
ReplyDeleteIt is very hot here, so perhaps curry is a wise menu choice?
Best wishes.
It's getting hotter here too, 33 C forecast for tomorrow; curry is perfect.
Delete30 degrees here this afternoon.
DeleteMust try this. My son is a wonderful Indian cook. I can't wait to show him this. I think we have everything in the frig. This looks so wonderful.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip and thehamish
As in all things, simple is usually the best.
DeleteI can't make a good curry - and believe me I've tried - yours looks pretty good. We have plenty of good curry houses in Leicester due to the massive Indian and Pakistani population we have here.
ReplyDeleteNo Indian restaurants here, and the few 'Chinese' restaurants are run by Vietnamese.
DeleteYUM.
