"Homegrown to shop bought". Please please please don't rub it in, or do. Visiting your idyll first thing every morning is balm to my soul by proxy. I so miss a piece of land of my own. Let's hope that by the time I'll be in position to acquire one again I won't be too bent, stiff and generally unable to lift a spade to toil the soil.
What a lovely list Cro and I share most of them ...... and I've already told you how much I like your ring ! I have only ever worn silver, always have a starter and main and skip the dessert, I'm blonde { with a bit of help .. nuff said !! } .... I won't go through your whole list but was never a Dylan nor a Stones fan !! It's going to be 33c today !!!! XXXX
I would have said I prefer Dylan to Jagger till I saw Dylan in concert last year and he sat at a grand piano and did a bad imitation of Bill Murray's lounge lizard act. He sang 2 songs we recognized and did them badly.
All of the above for me too, less the blondes. My husband is a rugby fan so I've learnt to enjoy the game, "if you can't beat them, join them" Greetings Maria x

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
We seem to share preferences.
ReplyDeleteI just knew you were a discerning person.
DeleteReal ale to keg bitter?
ReplyDeleteOf course; I forgot that important one.
DeleteDylan to Jagger surprises me. I wouldn't have put you as a fan of either.
ReplyDeleteI have a Dylan album called 'Modern Times' which has some good songs. Otherwise I rather like his 'When (if) dogs run free'. Never been a Stones fan.
DeleteInteresting statement ring, Cro.

My wife says this if I should die in the woods (whilst mushrooming) They'll be able to identify my rotting body by my ring.
DeleteAnd if you lose your bottle opener you have a handy replacement!
DeleteLove the ring….and the pool !!
ReplyDeleteYay!

Hot here; they're talking of 42 C this afternoon.
DeleteI concur almost fully with your list. I misread one of the items, I thought it said that you prefer salmon to god.
ReplyDeleteThat too, Sue!
DeleteThat's a pretty comprehensive list Cro, full of good things.
ReplyDeleteI thought so. I could have added a lot more.
DeleteGood, positive post, Cro. Thinking about what makes you happy and sharing it might make some of us do the same.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't my intention, but it would be nice.
DeleteYes to all of the above - we could be twins.
ReplyDeleteHa ha.... I expect we're not alone.
DeleteThat has pretty muvh given me the low down on what you are like Cro. Love the ring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post today.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip and thehamish

You have obviously reached the "contentment" stage of life (not everyone does) WELL DONE! Did you know how contagious you are?
