  1. If you had bought your sausage "thingy" from me your score would've been higher. That's all I'm saying. See you next year Cro!

  2. It looks good to me. Pigs in blankets need a dry cured smoked streaky bacon. I managed to find some Chestnut smoked for this year and excellent it was.

    1. The lady who sliced my bacon, did so far too thickly. It was wonderful for 'larding' the Turkey, but hopeless for the 'pigs'.

  3. What happened to the sprouts?

    1. They just weren't very nice. I bought the plants at Gamme Vert, and trusted in their choice of variety; I shouldn't have. The French have much to learn about Sprout varieties.

  4. I should have added that Lady Magnon's Cranberry Jelly was also delicious!

  5. I managed to score some parsnips here and was really looking forward to them but instead of sweetening up as they roasted, they were as bitter as an ex wife. Everything else was great, though, especially the stuffing.

Only one faux pas, I invited the local Commandant of Police and his Adjutant for Christmas supper, he had been told to expect turkey, so when I gave Alex and him a bowl of the very crisped up and crunchy bacon I had used to drape over the Turkey while roasting, he tucked in. I had completely forgotten his religion precluded him eating pork. He had devoured half the bowl before he realised that what he was eating was definitely not crispy turkey skin,

Given your views on religion, I thought you might find that as amusing as did!

    1. Lady Magnon almost swooned over those dark crispy bacon pieces. She'd have been happy with just a huge bowl of them.

From my experience, there's nothing Jewish guys like more than a big fat bacon sandwich!

  7. So, for not so good, there are four empty skewers on the gravy boat platter. Looking for the good one, I see. Happy new year.

  8. All looks pretty more-ish. 8 out of 10 is pretty good.

  9. I wonder how many were around your table to eat that half turkey.
