Mexicans This Way!

I continue my recent woodland theme.

A couple of days back our weather turned dull and damp (it's now back to 24 C again), so we took young Monty for a long walk along pastures (woodland) new.

When about an hour into the woods, we came across these two brand-new trail signposts.

So the question is this: Is the US now full to the brim? Are they sending their Mexican overspill to France? What illicit products are those donkeys carrying on their backs? I think we should be told!

  1. How bizarre! Perhaps you walked further than you thought and crossed the border into Spain.

  2. Sue. I presume your new pic is of the new acquisition. Looks very good. Giorgio Morandi too?

  3. What on earth? Someone's idea of a joke I suppose?

  4. I like the way that they point in both directions in a reverse. Either that or they are making allowances for man and donkey walking backwards.

  5. It must be directions for Juan Valdez. Bringing his mountain grown coffee from Columbia to "Chain Coffee Shops" opening every 1/2 mile across France.

  8. Happy Trails to You; stop and smell the coffee! I'm in agreement with grouchy. :)

  9. Maybe you were walking too fast and this sign is really telling you to slow down. Someone went to a lot of trouble, and has a lot of splainin' to do.

  10. perhaps I should clarify what I was referring to for you folks in Europe. This 'scene' is almost identical to an advertising campaign for a brand of coffee in the US. It featured a man in traditional garb, leading a burro laden with bags of coffee beans.

  11. It's OK Grouch. Since your recommendation, the chain of coffee shops is already in place (I'm on commission).

  13. Carole, we did both. The track on the right ended with a tree trunk across it, and the one on the left looked uninteresting. Eventually we took a third track, and returned home.
