Cro's Style Awards: No 3.

Unfortunately there isn't really a No 3.

I could have cited Buddhist monks in their Saffron robes, or Adam and Eve in their ever popular birthday attire, or even Greek orthodox priests in their tall black stove-pipe hats.

However, I'm going to finish this short series with a 'look' that may not go back very far in history, but is one that has always fascinated me (from a safe distance); The Biker.

These guys are seriously image conscious!!!

  2. Now I'm just torn. Being a fan of suspenders, I thought the boys sharing award no. 2 would always have my support. Okay, this is some sort of word thingy - suspenders, supportive...get it? Anyway I would like to have one of those jackets if the haircut wasn't required. I've already had that style thanks to U.S. Army and I can tell you, for me, it is not a chick magnet. So I guess the jacket plus the haircut would be a wash.

    1. They won't let you have the jacket without the haircut, a polished German tin hat, and a greasy old bike.

  3. you would love the annual event held here in Glastonbury, by a group of bikers called "RITS" or riders in the sky. It is to raise funds and honour bikers who have met with their end.
Hundreds of bikes converge on the local leisure centre, always a good humoured if very noisy, crowd. It's a pleasure to see the wonderful bikes and watch them all go roaring off in a convoy. They hold various other events, one of my favourites is when we sponsored a young lad to "jump" one of the rhynes, Evil Kenevil style.

  5. I'm a volunteer for the Kent Air Ambulance and I'm keen to attend a big biker rally coming up this summer. Now before you think I'm into leather, not really! It's just that I feel they will be a good an interesting gang with genuine heart-felt generosity.

Being an impressionable soul, I'll probably come back with Emma Peel aspirations... but wait, not with my derriere!

  6. You all talking about bikes reminded me of an episode of of "The Two Fat Ladies." During one of the episodes, Jennifer, who always rode a bike, carried Clarissa in the sidecar and they went to a biker convention. No stunts there but it looked like fun. I loved the Fat Ladies though so it might not have struck others the same.

    1. I think they always travelled by bike and sidecar. They were great fun. Some time back I read Clarissa's autobigraphy... she was some woman!

  7. Interesting to see that the Angels are doing what every other long-haired, middle-aged bloke does when he starts to go bald - shave his head.

  8. It's hard to make a fashion statement when all your friends copy your outfit.

  10. We have LOTS of bikers in my community, some good, some bad, but they are interesting.
We are already getting lots of bikers coming through our state to get to the Sturgis bike rally in Sturgis South Dakota. It is huge, intense and big. If I remember correctly, there were over 500,000 at last year's rally and Sturgis is only a small town of under a 1000 local residents.
Hell's Angels are totally in a different class unto their own....their own rules.
