There are three houses in our tiny hamlet, ours being the oldest and smallest. This one (below) is the furthest away of the other two.
It is the home of K and F, and their three grown-up children. A very nice family.
As I expect you can see, they are having the entire roof re-done. The whole roof is now off and all the old beams have gone. They will start again from scratch.
I imagine they are making some extra bedrooms in the loft space at the same time.
I'd rather them than me... I remember when we had our cottage re-tiled; it was a major upheaval. This is far more drastic.

What a wonderful place where a chicken and a horse roam free on the grass.
There are two horses and about 6 chickens. The horses are contained in the field; the chickens not.
Seeing around your house, the old barn and now your neighbour's property is giving us a good idea of your hameau.
There isn't much of it. The middle house has been turned into a holiday centre, so I shan't be featuring it. More publicity for them means more disturbance for us.
Are they still living in that house whilst the work is going on?? Sounds like an experience not to be undertaken by wimps.
They are, but I have a feeling that the upstairs floor is concrete.... I may be wrong.
The older we get the less we want to do on the house .... rather them than me but it will be wonderful when it’s all done and, we have to keep up maintaining our old houses .... they take a lot of work. We had a new roof about six years ago so I know how it feels !!! You live in such a beautiful hamlet. XXXX
I was in the habit of praying, I would pray for no rain for them, but I'm sure there are plans by the roofers should that happen.
It is a lovely little place. There's also a very small wooden cabin here, on the edge of the woods, but the people are very nice, and only come occasionally.
They have been completely covering it, but not last night. It is supposed to rain Sat, Sun, and Mon, but I'm sure they'll make sure it's watertight.
I wouldn't like to live there while it's going on. Hope your builders turn up promptly and it's not tomorrow and tomorrow. Worth all the upset I'm sure.
We've been waiting for our Carpenter for ages... a little longer won't matter.
We once had to have part of our old roof retiled. It was the one night of summer when a storm broke and the rain bucketed down, the temporary tarpaulin the builder had left was useless and we were up all night bailing out.
There is nothing worse than living in the house that is being renovated. I'd be very reluctant to do it again, that's for sure.
I can just imagine the scene. Just what you DON'T want.
OK when you're young (we did it several times), but these days I value my peace and quiet.
I would be obsessed with what the weather was about to throw at me.
Sunday and Monday, we are supposed to have 'light rain', but (like roofers) it may not materialise. I didn't hear any noise coming from the house yesterday; I hope they haven't disappeared!
