Master's Games? Having been at the head of the vax queue they might even be able to contemplate a Master's Games sometime soon. Years ago our rowing club hosted the rowing section of a Masters Games and i was inspired.
As an ex-rower myself (Henley, etc), I couldn't see my hips, or problem knee, coping with rowing ever again; but I have huge admiration for those who could.
I'm going to start training now! My half hour walk seems rather pathetic. Actually it reminds me of the Nemea games which should have been held last year. Everyone and anyone can run. Some of the real oldies just did a fast walk but it was inspiring enough to make me mark the date . Who knows when the next Games will take place. Not this year either
The NZ Masters Games went ahead last month in Whanganui..only NZ athletes this time, but it is a great event... If you want to see a Grand Master, have a look at Robert Marchand of France...
Have you seen Ernestine Shepherd? She's officially the world's oldest competitive female body-builder and she'll be 85 this year. She's beautiful, not over muscular and a very gracious lady! Puts me to shame!

I'm just back from my 30 min walk with Billy. I'm out of breath, but he's as fresh as a daisy.
I agree they are amazing but then I wonder why would you?
Well; I know I wouldn't, but it's good that a few do.
I don't get it. Which one is you Cro? I am assuming you are the one in the white running gear. What the hell happened to your beard?
I'm more like the old boy at the rear, but slightly more rotund.
That is good to watch.
My other half is still taking part in fell races, now in the over 70s category.

Good for him. My only activity these days is a 'brisk walk'.
I almost expected him to have a leather bag with tool kit behind his bike seat. What an advert for cycling. It must be the wine!
They are beyond amazing ..... I like to think I’m not too bad for 70 but I’m way out of their league !!!! XXXX
I don't think I could even walk round that track now let alone run.
I can't run; full stop.
I had to take Billy on his walk this morning on a lead; it was more speed walking than walking. Any faster and I would have been almost running.
Fantastic.

My legs still work well, but breathing would be a problem. Good for them.
Aren't they great... even the slowest one!
I stick to walking.

I just had a look, she looks pretty good to me.
I guess it's good exercise... but really?? It makes me think how strange old lady beauty pageants are. And for both I would ask, "Why?"
Oh wow, head down!
The one in the blue t-shirt doesn’t look his age at all.
it wont let me comment on your last post but I saw a new name for you, Trilby Fox one of the Eastenders cast has called her son that
Gosh! I'm impressed. My recently retired GP is a Masters pentathlete and is always on about throwing yourself about in your dotage :)
I didn't know about 'old lady pageants'. Sounds 'interesting'.
When Kimbo goes jogging, maybe I should join him.
I'm sure I can remember a TV character called Foxy. Was it in Citizen Smith?
Does Croquet count?
