Mobility.

If it should ever come to my using a Mobility Scooter; I shall want one of these.

Not quite as above, but with a Bugatti grill, pale blue paintwork, and a wooden rimmed steering wheel.

It would, of course, need to have a wickerwork rear pannier for shopping or picnic materials, and full leather upholstery. It would probably also have a handy container for either a brolly or shotgun.

Ideally it would be capable of around 50 Kph, and have a range of about 500 Kms.

With the Spanish border being only 450 Kms away, I could be in San Sebastian to dine on Oysters and Red Mullet before bedtime.

What a ripper. I have a photo of a similar but more modest model to use in a future post. Mine is red, so it should go faster.

Especially if it has a white stripe on it.

Isn’t that British Racing Green? Why do you want blue?

Gotta to live life to the full. Get that motor running, get out on the highway, one hand on that wooden rimmed steering wheel, the other brandishing your walking stick.

Lady M would need one too so that you could have races.

Cro Magnon said...

A Bugatti HAS to be blue. Lady M's Aston Martin version will be BRG.

Or my shotgun.

Cro Magnon said...

She's having an Aston Martin version.

Hope you'll never need one. Serious health hazard. Not least for oncoming traffic.

Pertinent question, if and when you may need it will you have faculties still in enough order to not mow over the likes of me (happy go lucky pedestrian going about her business)?

I omitted to mention the very large, and very loud, army-surplus hooter.

Where does the manservant sit?

Cro Magnon said...

Of course... at my age nothing but the best!

Cro Magnon said...

SIT? Have you ever allowed your servants to SIT? No, he runs by the side, carrying the suitcases.

Running in front, with a flag, surely?

Cro Magnon said...

That's the other one!

Sounds like a plan but I’m sure that is way in the future if at all ! Just went outside to stick new stickers given by the council on our green bins ( to prove we’ve paid ) and it’s absolutely freezing out there and windy. Think it’s going to get a bit warmer again next week. 🥶 Hope it’s warmer in your neck of the woods. XXXX

Do they do the scyth attachments for the wheels?

Lovely day here, but cool first thing this morning. Everyone is outdoors in T shirts, and the children are running around with water pistols.

I've ordered some from Sowf Lundun.

As I live close to the Lotus factory, I have ordered a Lotus Elise version.

Cro Magnon said...

Classy... we can have a race.

Procrastination has set in. I just can't decide which version I want. I've never had a properly sporty car. My maternal uncle had a Bentley Big 6 and an Alvis (not at the same time) so I think I'd plump for the less ostentatious one and go for the Alvis.

Cro Magnon said...

An excellent choice. My only 'sporty car' was a Triumph TR, but it was troublesome.

I wish. The only time I contemplated buying a sports care - maybe about twenty years ago (the first time I could actually afford one) I got in it and sat dreaming but couldn't get out without help. It was a low slung yellow one.

Sorry, obviously mean sports 'car'

I remember trying a Lotus Super 7, and the pointy end was so narrow that the pedals almost touched each other, and with my big feet... I had a job getting out of it too.

That's it... Just call me Fangio.

If we ever have Paralympic Games again. they should introduce a new event - mobility scooter racing... "And it's Magnon, Cro Magnon speeding down the final straight! He is passing the American! Passing the Russian! The chequered flag is out! It's gold! Gold for Great Britain! Gold for Magnon! What a guy! What a race! Mon dieu!"

Cro Magnon said...

Just for fun, I looked up Mobility Scooter Racing on Google, and discovered that it does actually exist. I shall obviously have to enrol as a competitor.

Azzuro. Even the Italian football team players are the Azzuri.

My Aston Martin will be Welsh Dragon Red

I should think in times like this you would be thanking your lucky stars that the Spanish border is 450 Kms away... but I could see other uses for the scooter... it would entertain small boys no end.

I would have one of those two, identical specs, but red.

AK Coldweather said...

My scooter will be royal purple. It won't be as fast as all of yours; however, since it will be ROYAL purple, you shall all have to motor along 6 feet behind me. :)

Cro Magnon said...

Ouch! Too much power.

Cro Magnon said...

Don't go for anything less than 1,000cc.

Cro Magnon said...

I can't mow the lawn without have small boys sitting on my lap or hanging on to the back. I need a trailer.

Cro Magnon said...

Red is a bit more racy. They go faster.

Cro Magnon said...

And bow (or curtsy) as you go past.
