"Thinking about the chump I've been" reminds me of Harvey J and Ollie (grandsons) being asked to suggest names for Boo Boo when he was born. They suggested Chump and Jesus. Great names.
I loved Mama Cass, I have been on the lookout for her version of Cherries Jubilee, which I had on a LP and for some reason always liked, no idea why? The record has sadly been lost in the mists of time.

I listened again to the words, there is no match between the sadness between the lines and the happy melody.
She's very hard on herself, although she didn't actually write the lyrics.

She had such an expressive voice.
I don't know that one. I found it on Spotify, but not by Cass.
Alas, my hearing loss means I can no longer appreciate all the music I loved in my youth. Mama Cass certainly had a fine voice I remember.
I dread losing my hearing. My wife is a little bit deaf and she finds it very frustrating.
Years ago a little neighbor boy named his two miniature turtles Puppy Chow and Burger King!
