Parcels, parcels, everywhere.

A big parcel arrived yesterday. It's always nice when a big box arrives from Amazon; even if you already know exactly what's inside it.

This was a naughty Christmas present to myself, a dozen packets of my favourite Pork Scratchings.

We're planning a big diet for the new year, so I may have to put some of them away until a later date; although they do have an 'eat by' date of 26 Jan 2018. Hmmmm, not sure.

Then, imagine our surprise when later in the day we returned from dog walking to find another big parcel waiting for us on the terrace table.

I wonder what it could be?

Looks interesting!

I hope there is some Patum Peperium in with all the other goodies in the F & M box.

I have no idea what's in there, we're not opening it until the 25th. We don't even know who it's from, but we suspect!

See above!

I was assuming it was from Bishop's Stortford.

My grandfather sent us an F&M's hamper every year....
it was part of Christmas as a child....
Along with the annual visit to Hamley's and afternoon tea with Auntie Miki at the Dorchester.... a very special meeting where an empty pudding basin would be exchanged for a full one with a greaseproof paper wrapper....
She made the family Christmas puds.... afternoon tea at the Dorchester was her treat, too!

I've never been to The Dorchester, but the rest is familiar. I do like the idea of returning the previous year's bowl; especially over such a Tea.

Anything from Fortmun and Mason is going to be good. When I worked in London, I always bought my Mum and Dad something from F&M or Jacksons of Piccadilly, which always included something alcoholic !! I would think that food presents are perfect for you and Lady M ! A zillion times better than socks or aftershave !! XXXX

And after a short while there's nothing left of them. Much better than rubbish that goes to the back of a drawer.

Via Piccadilly.

Lovely neighbours! I love a surprise. Please keep us updated of what's in there.

I find shopping online much better than traipsing round the shops. Even though I know what is inside the parcels there is still an element of excitement when they arrive and are waiting to be unwrapped.

It must be a hamper. I am going to order one next year. How exciting it would be to await its arrival.

Cro Magnon said...

I will. I can't wait!

I loved opening my pack of Pork Scratchings. What a treat!

Even better when it's a surprise.

Santa Claus has now morphed into Santa Amazon. He is more reliable and can come throughout the year. I hope your box contains something that will make you smile.

I quite expect it'll be something that puts on the pounds (as well).

One of those research companies we are always moaning about has just declared pork scratchings to be good for you, if that's any use.

Love getting parcels. Never had one from Fortnum and Mason though. That's well posh.

I knew it, I knew it. Thank heaven for research Co's.

I'll put in the back of the car, and drive about with it all next year.

I see your Amazon box is emblazoned with Amazon Prime.

Cro Magnon said...

I don't know why; I'm certainly not a 'prime' client.

F&M what a treat! I occasionally order something for our house from F&M for Christmas but the international shipping is very dear. I recently sent a hamper to good friends in Glasgow, they really are lovely gifts.
So fun that it is a surprise. x

I imagine it's from my oldest; he doesn't do things by halves.

oooo...Yes, even though I have never seen one in person, it has got to be a HAMPER! Yum. But fattening, too, probably. Sorry.

We've already planned our January diet; I think we'll need it!

Food? Drink? Both? Certainly not stuff to aid any diet methinks.

Cro Magnon said...

Eat, drink, and be merry, for in January we diet.
