Countdown to Crimbo.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The Crib is out (extreme left), the Swedish Bock is out (extreme right), and our Christmas candle stick has been lit. There are a few early cards on the dresser, and in the evenings we have been sitting by the fire with the lights off.

I suppose the only thing that would complete the festive scene would be two feet of snow, and a few Reindeer outdoors.

I shall cut the tree tomorrow, struggle to mount it upright in some leak-proof bucket, and drape it with seasonal kitsch. Christmas then will be officially 'open'.

I'm not sure why my attitude has changed, but this year I've really been looking forward to the whole caboodle. Bring it on!

Used to have a real live tree in a "secure" bucket until, one year, it toppled over and took me hours to clean up - imitation one ever since.

That looks very festive - doesn't get dark until late here.

It gets dark at about 6 pm here. I shall be out with the saw this afternoon; I've already selected a tree, the rest will be a big balancing act.

I would also be looking forward to it, knowing I have all those special Christmas goodies to eat!
Your place looks very warm, cosy and welcoming.

It looks perfect.

It's a classic 'cosy cottage'. Lovely in winter.

To us, it is. We don't wish for a huge manor house or chateau; just a pleasant home.

Now that was worth waiting for! Your xmas candle stick is beautiful. Makes a cosy xmas scene. You dont really need a tree, but if you're in the festive mood then go for it all!!

We are doing the decorating today.... and I am also looking forward to the day..... the reason for me is as a nice, festive endpoint to a dire, grey year!

I've just brought it in. It's HUGE.

Sounds like 'Things can only get Better'; I do hope so for you.

We've only got room for a small, artificial tree this year. Next year it will be real and enormous!

Most folks "downsize" holiday stuff as they get older. I think you and Mrs. have the right idea...let her rip!

It does feel like Christmas, displaying decorations we have seen for years, it's like having old friends around. I love sitting with just the tree lights on, we don't have a roaring fire, no fire place.

I think Yael has spotted the seven-branched candle stick...

I too am perplexed by finding myself enjoying - at least the notion of - Christmas. It must be another symptom of reverting to childhood in old age.

I am looking forward to Christmas too.

It all looks lovely and the tree will be the final touch. Good luck with getting the tree straight. I am looking forward to Christmas as well. Merry Christmas.

Ours is up; it's huge. I had to cut the top off.

We only have half the room, the other half is now TREE.

I like to do things correctly. Never scrimp on the tree or the decorations.

We've been decorating the tree, just the lights to go on now. Looking good.

We had our first party last night, so we're well into the spirit.

I'm looking forward to Carols from Kings.

Everything's a bit wonky in this house, so the tree will probably follow suite. I hope the cat leaves it alone.
