Another new kitchen.

Not long to go for Kellogg, and the new kitchen isn't finished yet.

One would have thought that one new kitchen every 20 years would be enough, but here they are doing it all over again 'down under'.

Like all builders, Aussies promise the moon, and all you get is the promise; for the moon you have to wait.

Still, it all looks very good, and with any luck it'll be finished before the baby arrives (not long now).

It's a small house in an exclusive gated compound. It has a private pool, and a fabulous beach just five minutes walk away, but like all houses it needed a new kitchen and bathroom.

And here's Boo Boo standing amongst all the still-packaged appliances. He's been showing Kellogg how they all work (true).

Meanwhile I'm still working on the other house.

  1. I imagine Boo Boo is well up on technology. He is growing like a weed and very cute. That kitchen looks like a great space to work.

    1. It's quite small compared to the one here, but I don't think BIG kitchens are essential. During the chaos they've been cooking on a single ring gas camping cooker.

  5. I love all the work space which is essential in a kitchen whatever the size. Booboo is too sweet for words and clever too.

    1. I had a friend who bought a small flat in London's Park Lane. He completely removed the kitchen to make an extra bedroom. He ate out 3 times a day!

  7. I do not have a large work place in my kitchen...kinda makes the cooking a wee bit difficult at times!

    1. Nor do I, but I'm not in the habit of swinging a cat-o-nine-tails. We nestle into what we are given.

    1. Only a few days to go (if I believe what they say).

I am quite a tidy person in the kitchen, and try to keep what little work space there is, open. Not always easy.

  9. Better to get the kitchen completed before than after the new baby.

I like updates in my home, but not the noise and especially not the dust.

    1. I think it's almost done; it certainly will be by the weekend. They've also put in new floors, and had the whole place painted. Just in time methinks!

  10. After a few homes that we have moved into and 'redecorated' I have a hope that one day -post Lottery Win- I can have a house built to my exact requirements. A proper pantry comes very high on the list so as to free the kitchen of storing foodie items and stuff. Enough space has to be left for the red wine to 'warm up' in a handy horizontal position.

    1. I built a pukka pantry up at the barn.... but as I feared, it has become a junk room.

  12. They employ Aussies for building work? Oh dear. Our tradies build things very light weight and if it kind of fits, that is good enough.
