Another Haddock's update.

It was only a short while ago that I posted a similar picture of Haddock's, but with the wonderful combination of sun and rain everything is now growing at a terrific rate; just look at those red cabbages.

We have strawberries, rhubarb, some salads, spring onions, and calabrese.

Everything (except for our winter greens) is planted out, and we now just need to wait until it's all big enough to eat.

It's looking good.

    1. It's very rewarding once one begins to eat one's own first vegs of the year.

  3. Hi Cro, you did well to plant with all that sun and rain combination. Those pictures are my type of images - being a vegetarian!

  4. Stop the torture, Cro. They don't say "GREEN with envy" for nothing. And I am not even given to envy.

    Cyan greetings,

  6. That calabrese looks good. When did you plant it? We are only cropping lettuce and strawberries at the moment, I think it will be a while before our spring onions will be ready.

    1. I can't remember exactly when I planted it, but it was well before the Ice Saints. It grows very quickly.

  7. Well I notice that I have a few tiny green tips growing in the bed and some of the herb seeds are germinating. I think it must be warmer than single figures at Haddock's.

    1. It has been round about the 20 C mark, but it's also been under 10 C. It's 19 C at the moment, and we've had plenty of recent rain.

  12. Looking good. We are doing a garden for the first time in many years. My wife just retired, and now with both of us home we have more time for things like that. Ours is not on the same level as yours, but next year we may try to do more if this goes well.

    1. The only tricky bit is keeping the weeds down after the stage above. It all looks very nice now, but the weeds grow at the same speed!

  13. Your crops may be a little earlier than mine but at this time of year everything is just so lush and growing at a rate of knots/nots/knotts? Growing veg is such a pleasurable pursuit isn't it - even after growing them all these years it always gives me a thrill.

  14. looking fantastic Cro! You are so much further ahead than we are, our soil here on The Poor Farm is awful and will take years to get in good shape. I will be back for motivating photos. Keep them coming.

    1. I would have thought that as it hasn't been cultivated for a while, that your soil would be excellent. Good luck.
