Charles Trenet - Que Reste-T-il De Nos Amours
Trenet singing one of his most evocative, and nostalgic, songs.
I'm sure that even non-French speakers will enjoy this; in fact you'll probably be humming it for the rest of the day, especially if you play it twice. "Que reste-t-il de nos amours...... tra la la."
Franklin and I want to learn the lyrics so we can wander the neighborhood, singing in French. People already stare at us. I might as well give them a real reason to stare.

I thought he looked a bit like George Formby. He certainly doesn't sing like him. Thank you.
Thank goodness only their looks were similar.
Very Gallic. My mother had a record of him singing "La Mer".
He wrote several real 'classics'; La Mer is one of them.
The first film on my new phone. It works. And a French lesson thrown in. I dont think I'll be humming it all day though. Thank you.
Listen to it again; then you will.
Je l'adore! It's so typically French! Thank you for brightening up my morning.
Glad to be of service, Tiddles.
Thanks for the warning, Cro. The last thing I need right now is an earworm.

Again, glad to be of service.
Never has my morning cup of tea felt so sophisticated.
That sounds perfect.
Charles Trenet - can you imagine I discovered him through our son? Such a sunny voice, tender and optimistic. Love his songs!
Me too, Brigitta, but I haven't listened to him for a while. This one has to be my favourite.
Still prefer Piaf Cro.
I love Piaf too.
Voulez vous danser avec moi? :)
