Baking Frenzy; she doesn't stop!.

It's almost like living in a bakery.

With a couple of grandsons (and their Papa) arriving today, Lady Magnon is taking her grandmotherly duties very seriously, and she's been baking to her little heart's content.

Yesterday it was yet more Mince Pies, and an Apple and Cinnamon Cake; her efforts were boundless.

One thing's for certain; they'll be no shortage of buns, pies, or cakes, when the boys are here.

I just hope they appreciate all her efforts;...... of course they will.

I'm off to the airport after lunch; they'll be here in time for tea.

Sensible Granny. Now everything is ready in advance for the arrival of the boys and papa.

They're pampered; and so they should be. If grandparents can't make a big fuss of them; who can?

It's been a while since their last visit - it will be a great reunion and I bet the pies and cakes will go down a treat - good old Lady M.

Getting the baking done in advance will free up time to enjoy their stay. Very sensible.
That apple and cinnamon cake sounds lovely.

We haven't seen them for ages. I think they look forward to all the cakes, etc.

It smelt wonderful when baking; no doubt it will taste as good.

Enjoy your boys - and the cakes!

Horrible weather here, Sue, and it's forecast to continue for another week (at least). Still, you can't have everything.

No swimming then! Enjoy the visit.

I like a home where mince pies aren't saved just for Christmas. x

Tea being the operative word by the looks of it Cro. Don't expect it will last that long with two hungry boys.

The option will be on the table; but I doubt if it'll be accepted.

It's essential in this house; I demand Mince Pies all year round.

She has more in reserve, in the freezer.

How exciting! It is a grandparents job to spoil their grandchildren. Enjoyxxxx

Cro Magnon said...

Absolutely.

lovelygrey said...

I would....if I wasn't the person making them!

Whether spoiling or bribing, I do it to get them to come home though I'm exhausted afterward. It is sweet that you both are excited. I think my husband gets more excited than I do - probably due to which one has to do most of the work.

What a loving "nonna" lady M is, and Cro, I hope you have you been practicing your table tennis? Greetings Maria x

I'm just back from the airport! Boys very excited.

We've already had a game. They love it.

I'm guessing that by the time I type this, you all might be happily gathered together round the tea table. How wonderful to be welcomed by Lady M's delicious baking. There was once a commercial with a tune that said, "nothin' says lovin' like something from the oven." I think that there's still truth in that notion.

Best wishes to you all.

It is what we do. We did not give our own kids lots of sugar, but when we become grandparents, the sugar factory went into overtime.

The winter blues will be on hold while your grandchildren and son visit. Have fun!

Yes, the first thing they did was to eat buns and play Ping Pong. They're now taking Bok for a walk before supper.

It's fun time for a week. Lovely to have them here.

Who wouldn't appreciate the effort! Sounds heavenly.

They've already been tucking-in; I think she'll have to bake a lot more.
