It's almost like living in a bakery.
With a couple of grandsons (and their Papa) arriving today, Lady Magnon is taking her grandmotherly duties very seriously, and she's been baking to her little heart's content.
Yesterday it was yet more Mince Pies, and an Apple and Cinnamon Cake; her efforts were boundless.
One thing's for certain; they'll be no shortage of buns, pies, or cakes, when the boys are here.
I just hope they appreciate all her efforts;...... of course they will.
I'm off to the airport after lunch; they'll be here in time for tea.

She's been very excited.... making beds, baking, etc. She loves it.
Of course the cakes and buns and pies will all be enjoyed....they were made with love....and you must be so excited about the visit..have fun.

They're pampered; and so they should be. If grandparents can't make a big fuss of them; who can?
It's been a while since their last visit - it will be a great reunion and I bet the pies and cakes will go down a treat - good old Lady M.
Getting the baking done in advance will free up time to enjoy their stay. Very sensible.
That apple and cinnamon cake sounds lovely.
We haven't seen them for ages. I think they look forward to all the cakes, etc.
It smelt wonderful when baking; no doubt it will taste as good.

Whether spoiling or bribing, I do it to get them to come home though I'm exhausted afterward. It is sweet that you both are excited. I think my husband gets more excited than I do - probably due to which one has to do most of the work.

I'm just back from the airport! Boys very excited.
We've already had a game. They love it.
I'm guessing that by the time I type this, you all might be happily gathered together round the tea table. How wonderful to be welcomed by Lady M's delicious baking. There was once a commercial with a tune that said, "nothin' says lovin' like something from the oven." I think that there's still truth in that notion.

It is what we do. We did not give our own kids lots of sugar, but when we become grandparents, the sugar factory went into overtime.

Yes, the first thing they did was to eat buns and play Ping Pong. They're now taking Bok for a walk before supper.
