Yesterday I was just about to mow the orchard, when I spotted the above..... nice eh?
The Bimbos (as they're now being called) are settling in well. They're not laying yet, but have become very friendly, and are reasonably obedient (in a Chicken kinda way).
Bok is back to his old ways, permanently trying to round them up; where to, or what for, we're not yet sure. They simply ignore him.

Beautiful flower photograph - is this little clump growing out of a cow pat? dog pat? or maybe a collective collection of chook do do? - Whatever is nourishing this little circle is certainly doing a good job.

All our lawns are covered in Daisies, but this just stood out. Just ordinary soil I think (if there is such a thing).
The hens are beautiful, (bok also), i wish i have hens here but it is inpossible with the open and amall yard.
I remember you saying you like black hens. We are spending six months at our Normandy place this summer and have to rehome my two, Polly and Suki. Wish I could stow them away on the ferry.
Is this Bok's Border Collie side coming out (didn't you say he has some Border in him? Although I must say he looks all Labrador.)
So, what of Richard? Did she accept the Bimbos in the end? I'm hoping so!
My two girls react nervously every time my Cocker walks by. She barely looks sideways at them as she lives in her own little world these days. And even if she didn't she is such a gentle girl she'd never do harm.
We think he's half BC and half black Lab', hence his natural instincts. He's a bit confused as whether to retrieve or round-up.
Richard became a bit aggressive with the Bimbos, so we had to move her; since when she's been laying very well.
Two of them are mostly black, the other two have brown front half's. But they have that allure!
Space is essential, although I do know of people who keep hens in London.

I think that the daisies mark the grave of a fairy princess, buried standing up, wearing a crown of daisies. Ok?

that's a lovely daisy crown. Bok must be missing his playmate so badly. I hope the chickens help to keep him amused.
That daisy circle is perfect Cro….. I'd rather like to think that the fairy has lost her crown rather than it be a fairy grave !!

What a beautiful circle of daisies! It looks like a place where fairies would dance! And I love the chickens. I'm hoping to own a home by next spring and keeping a few hens is on my list of plans for it. A nice garden, too!
Love the daisies. They are known as Faerie rings here. Some time back, I took a pic of 3 daisies in a perfectly spaced row outside a cottage owned by 3 sisters.
There are faeries in your garden, lucky you!
