I never tire of walking the dogs in my immediate vicinity, but occasionally we take them off to discover hidden parts of the village woodlands, that we have previously overlooked.
The weather has been glorious recently, so yesterday Lady Magnon suggested a particular woodland track that we have only half explored.
Down a tiny overgrown side track we came across these abandoned buildings.
The barn itself (above) had been re-roofed within the past 20 years, and was in very good condition; just look at that arch.
Signs of previous life were everywhere.
Including this old tractor, which almost looked as if one could just turn the key, and it would go;
unlike other abandoned vehicles that were not so roadworthy looking. In all we counted five.
There were plenty of other buildings about (in various states of decay). Access to the property was a bit tricky, but nothing a few Euros and an adventurous spirit couldn't handle.
A nice little restoration project awaiting a 'sympathetic buyer'. I would have had a go, had I been a bit younger!
I wonder if it's for sale?
