Men Behaving Badly - Pub Rave

The 'Pub' watchdog' CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) has said that after Labour's recent disaster budget, about 1,200 pubs will close this year. In fact it may well be many more.

I used to go to my local about once a week for a couple of pints, but these days the cost is prohibitive; unless, of course, you're a Train driver, Plumber, or Electrician.

A Pint of Bitter costs over £5 these days; that's the price of a bottle of wine. This is why so many people (like me) prefer to stay indoors, and shout at the TV.

Another cultural change for Britain. The country ain't what it used to be.

I think it's only the 'unpopular' pubs that are closing. The good ones, like my local, will never die!

Typical!
Don't be too sure about your local Cro. After this government have closed all the unpopular pubs, they'll start on the popular ones. They don't want anyone to have enough money left for even half a pint!

When I briefly lived in Shropshire in the early 80's, beer in my local went to 50p a pint, and I swore I'd never drink any ever again. I didn't stick to it.

P meets his pals in his local on the harbour every Friday afternoon. They enjoy two pints each and a good "man" chat before he walks home again for a fish supper. It's the highlight of his week.

Let me know where you can find a bottle of decent wine for £5 in England please.

It's a 'man thing'. A couple of pints with one's mates, and the world is put to rights.

Sainsbury's. Wollemi, S E Australian Shiraz, £4.75p.

"Disaster Budget"? No. A bold attempt to reset the British economy following a Tory decade of ineptitude - including sleep walking into the real "disaster" which is the Brexit that they effectively ushered in.

Wetherspoon's is cheap as chips in England for a pint. I paid two Pounds eighty for a pint in August in Dorset and Kent.

A bold attempt to close pubs, make many businesses sack staff, freeze OAP's to death, and possibly build over 'suddenly available' once productive farm land.

I've never visited one, aren't they the haunt of Football supporters?

Really looking forward to your take on Justin Welty’s resignation and valedictory speech.

we can buy Sam Smith beer in bottles in France but France is the country for craft beers, hundreds of them. My friend Tim Duquenoy RIP helped produce a book of beers which found that the no1 beer in France came from the Orb Valley
