According to a recent poll, it looks as if my choice for new Prime Minister is heading the list.
Not only are Penny Mordaunt's initials PM (Prime Minister), but she is proving to be the most popular candidate with ordinary Conservative voters.
She is a calm, intelligent, and determined, 49 year old woman. She has an attractive personality, and a fine head of hair. It remains to be seen if she'll get the job!

She hasn't seemed to have blotted her copybook badly. I like that she was game enough to be critical of Oxfam. I'll reserve judgement.
She's the only one I'd vote for. I think she'd do a good job.
Kemi Badenoch would be brilliant against Keir Starmer at PMQs.
If Penny Mordaunt was a horse you would be quids in having placed your bet on her when she was a rank outsider. I wonder why that man of the people, Jacob Rees-Mogg, is not in the running. Perhaps he entered the Donkey Derby instead.
Where do you take your figures from? According to my sources Rishi Sunak is currently backed by 38 MPs as opposed to Mordaunt's 25.

I don't think she has the right personality. She always looks a bit confused.
I believe what I'm told.
Rachel, being brilliant against Keir Starmer is not something even I'd boast about.
And has hacking a labour front bencher in her history...not what you need!
It wouldn't be difficult Adrian. I don't know anything about her personality Cro.
In fact I have no idea who she is except I saw her speaking and I don't think anything would phase her. I regard myself as being totally hopeless at choosing good leadership politicians and my comment should be taken as tongue in cheek and no more than that.
I too would like to know who told you.
I think Mogg values his sanity; the others don't.
It was in the nation's most popular newspaper this morning.
Well the last one with the 'fine head of hair' wasn't much good.
If you are referring to the "Metro" owned by the same group as the Daily Fail then only two things spring to mind. Firstly, it's free - so, obviously, people will "read" it. Secondly, you may remember that saying, late sixties/early seventies, about flies.
As of now, Sunak - 41, Mordaunt - 24. If you do like long odds place your bet now. Still, seven weeks (5 Sept) in politics is an eternity, the summer recess notwithstanding.

It's not a hard-n-fast priority for a PM, but I do like hers.
Not sure if the hair is going to help but we need anything we can get. They will choose who they will choose and we will see how they tackle everything ..... I bet they won't find it as easy as they think ! XXXX
It's not a job I would want. I think you need to be slightly crazy to want to lead a country.
I'm not in the UK and have little knowledge of the individuals in the run. That said, it is early in the game and anything can happen. As for criteria, good hair is an attribute I've not considered.
Good hair is an important asset; just look at Boris.
Having seen the 8 confirmed as standing, for what it's worth my feelings are:
Rishi - why would anyone trust the driver that crashed the economy into ultra high tax and inflation with being in charge of anything?
Kemi - at least she seems prepared to challenge some of the trans/woke religious beliefs
Hunt - he was Health minister whilst I worked in the NHS, and was a total waste of space
Morduant - seems to have her head screwed on
Why is Hillary Clinton reflected in that poster? Just asking.
I don't agree about Rishi, but I don't really want to see him as PM. The others I would agree about.
That is Penny Mordaunt; a somewhat more attractive person than HC.
Never forget that The Daily Mail sells TEN TIMES the amount of papers as The Guardian, and its readership are roughly 50/50 Tory/Labour.
Do you mean faze?
Penny Mordaunt is also 26 years younger than HC!
I have to say, I'm baffled as to why anyone would even think that we would have an image of HC on anything to do with British politics! X
