Certain people take to swimming very easily; others make a terrible fuss.
Little Mischa is of the former, he sees no danger or obstacle in water. Give him a pair of water wings, and he's straight in. A few days ago I was very slightly supporting his body in the water, but in fact I don't think he really needs his wings at all. Even his curls seem to love it.
This was taken yesterday when the water was 24 C; he didn't complain.

Shouldn't he be wearing a hat - his poor little head looks burnt or is it just the photo.
Just the photo! It's around 30 C here; not really burning heat.

He looks just like a standard Italian cherub; the type that holds a swag or cornucopia.

If you zoom in, concentrating on the armbands half, it would make a terrific painting.
I intensified the colour slightly because I liked the pattern of the water.
He is as yet unaware of his curls; I wonder how long that will last?

His hair may darken to brown. One brother's did. Not the other, though, nor his curls. In fact, he had to use his wife's mascara on his mustache, and still we did not notice until his wife pointed out we were breaking his heart.
It's probably that I feel so at home in the water myself, that it worries me to see children who don't like water, or swimming.
They are amazing; and all totally natural.
Mischa's father had beautiful blonde hair too, without the curls. Very Swedish.
