The video doesn't show for me today. Re yesterday's post, I heartily agree with you on kindness Cro; it is the easiest thing to do and it's free. I'm jealous of those mouthwatering rasberies! Greetings Maria x
The epitome of french charm and style with that attractive toughness. I had to Google to see if he is still alive. Alive and still kicking it seems. I enjoyed the video
Yes, the French ... by way of their language alone they charm your socks off in a tree (please note how artfully I knitted two sayings into one - just like how the French bamboozle one with sweet nothings).
Which reminds me, a question I have been meaning to ask for a while: Do you consider yourself fully bilingual? Do you read books written in French?
PS As much as I like Delon cast as bad boy in some of his early films - when it comes to singing and that certain je ne sais quoi, I prefer Charles Aznavour.
I remember a very old friend many years ago telling me to watch, the movie?, of Alain Delon walking into the surf. I suppose I did and certainly could now on Youtube. I am using the desktop now, always with speakers silenced, but will watch the clip on my tablet in bed.

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!

I'm sorry you can't get the video; I wonder why not?
DeleteYes, it costs nothing to be pleasant, but some just can't face it.

He was quite a heart-throb in his hay day. I think the video could have cut out the band and singers.

I both speak and read in French, but I'm reluctant to write. I make too many mistakes. I occasionally find myself thinking in French too.
DeleteNo, too pretty and smooth for me. My French pin-up would have to be Gerard Depardieu.
ReplyDeleteDepardieu is too fat these days, but maybe Delon is too.
DeleteOh, those smooth crooners...
ReplyDeleteHe's one of the smoothest.

ReplyDeleteIt's a good song, and he makes a good job of it.
DeleteHe was a beautiful looking man. I remember him from my youth. He was popular in the States also.
ReplyDeleteEven I can see that he was an attractive man; not always the case.
