When it becomes oppressively hot and humid (anywhere over 35 C, like yesterday), this is to where we retreat.
It's the single room of our so-called 'tower', that Lady Magnon and I built a few years back.
It is cooling; usually with a light breeze. It is reasonably uncluttered (for us). And the bed is big enough for the three of us to take our afternoon siesta very comfortably (the third member being Bok). At nights only Freddie is allowed access; unless there are storms.
The room has a Franco/Moroccan feel about it, and is very relaxing. There is no water or electricity, so no disturbance. The room is also away from the house.
Methinks it's time to move in before our real summer begins (which we did last night)!

The room has a cool appearance and yes, the bed cover has a Moroccan appearance. Do you use the mosquito net? I've only used one once and somehow it got mixed up with my bedding after I had been tossing and turning.
It looks like a wonderful, cool refuge in the summer. The summer heat is already oppressive here and it's making me feel lazy and unmotivated.
No Mozzies so far this year. They aren't always easy to use; ours is quite large, so better than some.
It has cooled this morning, but last night was hot.

It's the (almost) perfect spot to spend hot nights; but I do miss my radio and LBC.

It's not too far away. For men it's much closer!
That room is very similar to one in Crete we stayed in. We had flown over night, travelled over the mountains in the searing heat, then lay on the bed looking at the beams on the ceiling as the breeze wafted the curtains at the window. The best nap I have ever had.

Just looking at that room has a cooling effect! Last night here was very hot and still. Finally cooled off this morning so at the moment pleasant in the shade...

Given the right circumstances, this is the most restful place imaginable. Fabulous during storms too.
Simple, cooling, and comfortable. What more could one want in Summer.

Sorry. No water = no loo = no me. If I lived in those temperatures as I did occasionally in NZ, then air-conditioning would be the order of the day (as is the norm in NZ).
Our friends back in Brighton are having a wonderful summer; dodging all those tourists.
You know it's hot when we de-camp to the 'tower'.

I don't really notice the lack of facilities, other than for my internet radio; but the WiFi doesn't reach there anyway.
