The boys held their first ever dinner party yesterday, and what a dinner party is was; we even had personalised place names (with minor spelling mistake).
The BBQ was lit, the fire pit was lit, 'artisan' crisps were handed around to all present; it started well, and continued that way.
We ate BBQ'd strips of belly pork, giant 'luxury' knacki sausages, and inch-thick beefburgers, all served with a potato salad, and tomatoes. Nothing was burned, all was perfectly cooked. Everything was delicious
For dessert we ate strawberry tart, and the evening was rounded off with roasted marshmallows over the fire pit.
For a first go at entertaining, the boys did a fabulous job. They are now thinking of opening a chain of Dangerous Fun Resterants;..... I think they'll do well.

It was great fun. Their first attempt at 'Entertaining'.
I cooked the potatoes beforehand. They did all the BBQ'ing and serving.
It's quite a Meat-Fest at the moment. Diet when they all go back!

I love men who have learned to cook, and enjoy sharing their creations with others. Half the pleasure is the planning...wonder how many hours were spent in theirs. Poor Bok...the barbecue probably drove him crazy....but his boys can do no wrong I imagine.

Being someone who loves cooking myself, I am trying to give them the bug too. It seems to be working.
The big fat fresh Beefburgers were amazing. All good stuff.
I'll try to get them to do another evening next week. Too good to miss.
Kids tend to "play" at their interests and many times they grow up to become exactly what they pretended. Both my kids did and so did I!
