Does he ever go in for a swim? My schnauzer has recently taken to hopping down onto a tiny " beach" on our local river and having a little paddle. He had never done it before in his 4 yrs of walking along there!
I think that Bok has a bit of aristocracy in him ...... he is sort of lording it around the pool !!!! A true friend and companion ... how old is he now Cro ? XXXX

Optimistic Cro!
The difference between an optimist and a pessimist, is that the optimist enjoys himself whilst waiting for the inevitable! I AM that optimist!
This is a daily, optimistic, 'photos and comments' blog. I make no judgements (only occasionally), just notes. If you wish to comment in any way at all, please feel free. Everything and everyone (except the obdurate and dictatorial) is very welcome.
I was born just south of London, but for the past 50 years I've lived in S W France. I am a painter by profession, and writer by desire. Lady Magnon and I live between an ancient cottage in a tiny village in perfectly tranquil French countryside, and a bijou townhouse in Brighton UK. In France we have plenty of fruit trees, all situated amongst a view that takes the breath away, in the UK we have a handkerchief sized patio. We also have a Border Collie called Billy. I try to treat our planet with respect, and encourage others to do likewise (without preaching).
Contentment is a glass of red, a plate of charcuterie, and a slice of good country bread. Perfect!
Smart dog.
ReplyDeleteA dog of habits.
DeleteI love that boy! So cute!
ReplyDeleteHe's a true friend.
DeleteBok has fans, worldwide. I love him too. Precious pup.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell him you said that. he'll be thrilled.
DeleteLove the way he is living with his paw in the pool. Cool dog
ReplyDeleteAnd always in the same spot. Nirvana.
DeleteBrain. Shade.
ReplyDeleteHe watches me swimming.
DeleteJust a touch of distinguished grey around the muzzle - ageing well.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked that in dogs; that hint of wisdom!

ReplyDeleteHe's not a keen swimmer. He used to swim with our Lab' Monty, but only to show him he wasn't afraid of the water. Nowadays he never goes in.
DeleteA bit greyer round the chops though.
ReplyDeleteThe years have not been kind. It's the doggy equivalent of thinning hair (about which I am an expert).
DeleteI am an expert on greying chops.

ReplyDeleteWoof, Woof!

ReplyDeleteHe's 6½; middle aged. He certainly knows how to position himself. This morning I found him sleeping underneath an Apple tree.
DeleteBok has a little more distinguished grey around the snout these days but otherwise as he was. What a sweetheart. Your love of him shines.
ReplyDeleteI like dogs as those grey hairs appear, it's usually a sign that they're mellowing.
DeleteThat is so funny, paw in the water,, made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteThat's his daily early evening position, as we have our cold beer by the pool.
DeleteTesting the waters.
ReplyDeleteExactly.
DeleteThe one paw in the water is a bit like one foot out from under the blankets. He's such a lovely dog. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI've just been having a siesta with him.
DeleteThe old chap has gone a bit grey though.
ReplyDeleteLike his owner!
