Car-Boot Booty.

The last Sunday in July (yesterday) is the day of our annual village 'boot sale'.

Every house in France has one of these in the loft. This particular high chair was bought for Bunny; it replaces a ghastly borrowed plastic thing, that we will be very pleased to be rid of.

My love of white plates continues. Yesterday's haul included these few bits, plus the little brown cup with the simple pattern; which is mid-19th C Dutch (so I'm assured).

The soup tureen is very heavy. The top is a bit odd (bottom left), so I think I may look out for a more attractive replacement.

I love boot sales, and we always come home with all sorts of stuff. I can't remember the last time we bought anything new for the house,

That high chair is just what we were looking for for the two great-grandchildren but could only find horrible plastic ones.

I remember a high chair with a hole in the middle.

Nice high chair, but no straps! Please make sure that the little fella is strapped in….my cousin in law's baby ( many years ago) fell from a high chair, as she was feeding him, and died.

I like the high chair. Paul was tempted by a giant decorative temperature gauge but luckily common sense prevailed. We came away empty handed.

There's a strap at the front (between legs), that should stop him sliding forwards.

I thought it was particularly good this year. Lots of interesting things, and reasonable prices.

That's lovely Cro ……. so much nicer than those horrid plastic ones !! We have a brilliant seat called Phil and Ted's lobster clip on chair. The lobster claw clamps fit most tables, it packs away and holds a child up to 37lbs. It has a safety harness and a tray !
I also LOVE white china …. that's all I have and I have a tureen with lid like that. I always think that food looks best on white china. XXXX

Everything is white at the chateau, but I had red wine just now.

Much of the white 'china' is simple tin glazed pottery. It looks so right piled high with good country fare. The oval meat dish (upper left) is particularly nice..... no, they all are.

So, you've arrived. We've just said goodbye to our Russian/Swedes; Wills is driving them down to Toulouse.

I'm by the pool.

I rather like white too Cro and it does seem to me that you can't miss a bargain.

So am I.

To fall through? Or for something else!

You've got some great finds there! I went to a nearby yard sale and walked away with an armload of books. I know I need to go through the ones already in the house and rehome some.

For a potty. Seems strange.

Looks like a good haul. We're about to put our old wooden high chair out at the curb. I don't believe, given the ages of our grandchildren, that we'll live long enough to need it for our great grandchildren. I like your white plates. Nothing sets food off better than a plain white plate.
