Here are those cheeky Mancunians appearing on Blue Peter; an essential venue in 1964.
The singer, Freddie Garrity died back in 2006. RIP. Every time (decade after decade) they performed the song, the band did the same prancing 'dance', it was probably that that hastened poor Freddie's demise.
Here they are with 'You were made for me'. This'll bring back memories!

There's a blast from the past. I don't think that little dance would have hastened his demise, if anything it would have kept him fit.
I believe the group are from Manchester and as a Scouser, that's very important point!
Gosh, thanks for that, I'd always imagined they were a part of the whole 'Mersey Beat' thing. I have changed it above!
I'm usually so careful with such things.
That silly little dance used to irritate me, although I did like their songs.
He must have been very fit - singing while dancing like that.
Silly dances were de rigeur with certain bands. Yes this one was very annoying. Even worse was Claude Francois in France.
I expect he was miming, but even so...
I bet the guitarists hated the 'dance' and I'm sure the drummer was glad he was seated.
I saw him at the Millfield Theatre , Edmonton, London in recent years. He started walking around the audience with some sort of tickling stick and I was terrified he would pick on me! At the end of the show he sat on the edge of the stage with a bag of his CD's for sale. It all seemed very sad to me.
The only 'blast from the past' I've seen in recent years was Lonnie Donegan. He was opening for Van Morrison, and (amazingly) was very good.
How could they play and sing and do that dance at the same time? Freddie must have been miming.
I believe they called that dance "The Freddy". I wonder what a dance called "The Cro" would be like - perhaps some form of ballet.
I'm sure he was.
Fast-n-Furious, Sexy-n-Seductive.
Lovely old song. Can't say I ever noticed the dance. I always look at the bands dress . All of them in suits . And those hair styles, bowl cut or short back n sides.
These days bands like to look drug ravaged and starved.
A real throwback! The song, suits and fancy foot-work from an era long past. .
I rather liked that era; The Beatles, etc. I would have been about 17 when this one came out.
I notice my comments have been disappearing into spam quite a lot lately.
