Dolphin Asks Diver For Help.

Occasionally a small bit of film can renew one's faith not only in humanity, but also in our relationship with wildlife.

  1. We agreed with your other post but it has vanished. Unfortunately, criminals use the situation for their own benefit.

    1. Unfortunately a well known troll was using my post to spread her anti-everything venom. I took it down. Common sense just infuriates some people.

  2. Your blog post disappeared between my writing a comment and posting it. I can understand why.
I'll enjoy the dolphins more I'm sure

    1. I had a feeling that if I showed my support for the demonstrators, and my dislike of the looters, that some would take the opportunity to vent their crackpot ideas. I decided not to give them the chance.

    2. I was on a cruise ship with Monte Carlo as the next stop and the Captain announced that if we looked to the left we could see whales....I thought he meant Wales, lol and for a few mins thought that I was on the wrong ship.I had drank a few cocktails by then!xx

  4. If you want to keep the trolls busy I suggest sending your blog post to several bloggers and it can be published on multiple platforms. Should keep the gobby twats busy if nothing else. My email is adrianwrd@gmail.com

    1. I think keeping it here exclusively is enough for one troll to cope with. Even though she/he must be unemployed, and has nothing better to do, it keeps her busy all day.

  5. I have to say that was a very heart-warming message. We see quite a lot of dolphins, porpoises and whales in The Minch. A pod of Orcas once herded seals into the bay below the house and turned the sea red with their blood. One assumes that they did it entirely for food and not enjoyment or hatred.

    1. I've seen a shoal of Porpoises off Brighton; goodness knows what they were doing there. It's a shame they don't stay.

  6. There's so much about this wonderful world that we still don't understand.
Now, regarding pickled walnuts - He Who Shops bought a jar of Opies in Tesco. I can't eat them!!! The label lists Barley malt vinegar and Barley malt extract, and I'm a coeliac!! I am so disappointed.

    1. That's a shame. Opies are the best commercial ones. Maybe He Who Shops should pickle some using ordinary vinegar and sugar. First find your Walnuts.

  7. Intelligence is not the preserve of humans. In fact, speaking of trolls, some dolphins are more intelligent than some humans.

  8. So nice to see such a humane and gentle act. I love them ..... we saw some in Florida ..... we also saw Manatee .... they don’t get as much love or press coverage because they aren’t as pretty as dolphins but are very gentle creatures. XXXX

    1. Manatee are just plain ugly, but, as you say, very gentle and quiet creatures. It pays to be 'cute'.

  9. We often get pods of dolphins and sometimes whales and basking sharks close by our coastline here. We have a local whale and dolphin watch organisation who monitor their activity and record numbers. Wonderful creatures aren't they?

    1. They certainly are. I do wish people wouldn't 'train' or tag them. It's not very dignified.

    1. That's how we should always see them; not in some 'aqua show' or whatever.

  13. I’d rather watch animal shows, especially dolphins, wales, and elephants than any other programs. Their grace and nobility far outrank many in the human race.
